❗️$5 Friday - We are in Urgent Need of Support ❗️
Surrender season has begun, and with it comes an overwhelming need for help. Funds are critically low, and we have several gliders with serious medical needs. Today, we’re sharing the story of Rubble and his brother, Chase.
Rubble, as you can see in the attached video, is extremely sick, and we’re hoping we can save him. He was dropped off with one of our volunteers in a remote part of upstate NY, and we’re working hard to get him into a vet today, if possible. The location has been challenging, but we’re committed to getting him the help he urgently needs.
Even a $5 donation can make a difference in helping us cover these unexpected medical costs and provide Rubble, Chase, and others like them with the care they deserve.

Thank you for standing by us and making these lifesaving efforts possible. Every dollar counts!
Today was productive and eye-opening at the Topsfield Fair. I spent a few hours sharing crucial information about sugar glider care, particularly in response to the irresponsible practices of Pouch Mates, a vendor selling gliders for $1000 with inadequate supplies and harmful misinformation. Unfortunately, these gliders have been turning up sick across New England over the past week.
Shockingly, Pouch Mates’ so-called “warranty” even states that if a glider dies, you can purchase another sick glider for $125. This kind of predatory practice only adds to the harm they’re causing.
While I was eventually asked to leave by the police (who were actually supportive of my efforts), one officer kindly escorted me to administration, to file an official complaint. We also discussed the possibility of setting up a free information table next year to help educate potential glider owners.
It turns out Pouch Mates was able to operate under a state-approved permit, but if we can get the state to deny this permit, we can stop them from selling in Massachusetts again.
If you or anyone you know has purchased a sugar glider from Pouch Mates at the Topsfield Fair (or elsewhere), please reach out to me as soon as possible. We need all the documentation we can get to help put an end to this unethical practice.
Spending time with Mary 🌸
🌸 Here’s sweet Mary, snuggled up in her pouch, getting some head rubs while she makes little popping sounds—a sign of happiness for sugar gliders, similar to a cat’s purr. ❤️ When gliders come to us alone after losing their cage mate, like Mary did, it’s so important that they feel extra loved and comforted. While she’s waiting out her quarantine before finding a new friend, I make sure she gets lots of one-on-one time and TLC. Watching her relax like this is a reminder of how resilient these little souls are.
Furby Update!
Furby Update!
We’re thrilled to share that Furby has healed up beautifully from his recent procedures! His incision is looking great, and he’s been such a trooper through it all. Next on our list is getting him neutered, so he can have a couple of new friends to snuggle up with. We’re excited to see him enjoy some much-needed companionship. Thank you all for your continued support and love for Furby—he’s well on his way to living his best life! 🥰
Jack’s Journey: A Heartwarming Update
Jack’s Journey: A Heartwarming Update
It’s hard to believe, but it’s been a week since Jack welcomed three new friends into his life. They’ve quickly become a little family, taking the place of our beloved Bruin, who we sadly lost a few weeks ago. Seeing Jack so happy and thriving is beyond what I could have hoped for.
There was a time when I wasn’t sure Jack would ever make it, let alone have any friends. But here he is, running on his wheel with more energy than I ever imagined. It fills my heart with so much joy to see him this way. Jack’s resilience is truly remarkable, and I had a feeling that if any of the three were going to pull through, it was going to be him.
I’m so proud of his progress and so grateful to share this little victory with all of you. ❤️
Update on Lacy
This morning, Lacy broke her arm, and we have a vet appointment this afternoon. We’re hoping to save her arm, but her journey isn’t going to be easy.
Lacy came to us with severe metabolic bone disease (MBD), which makes her bones very brittle. She will always run the risk of this kind of injury. While she’s shown remarkable improvement, MBD is a lifelong battle. She likely won’t live a full life, but we are committed to making every moment count for her.
Despite her challenges, Lacy is a fighter, and we’re dedicated to giving her the best life possible. Please keep her in your thoughts and send positive vibes her way. Your support means the world to us and to Lacy.
Thank you for being part of our community and helping us provide the love and care these precious gliders need.

🎉 Jack’s Remarkable Recovery 🎉
I’m thrilled to share some incredible news about Jack, the last of the Gotham Trio! After battling severe infections from various strains of bacteria, including rabbit syphilis, as well as parasites and yeast, we faced heartbreak with the loss of Harvey and Ivy. We were nearly losing hope until our third vet stepped in. Although he initially suggested euthanasia, I couldn’t give up on Jack just yet. We fought too hard and too long to surrender now.
With the vet’s agreement, we decided to give Jack one last chance, and I’m ecstatic to report that we’re now wrapping up week three of his 30-day treatment plan. Jack’s progress has been nothing short of miraculous—he’s so full of energy that we had to upgrade him from his hospital cage to a larger space! For the first time ever, I’ve even seen him running in his wheel.
To say I’m happy would be an understatement. Amidst the heartache and challenges, moments like this remind us why we keep fighting. Thank you all for your support and love. Here’s to more happy updates and continued progress for Jack!
