Raider was spotted taking his puppy Rufus for a walk at Fitchburg Dog Park. He was super excited to hear that the Fitchburg, MA Recreation Department just received a grant for $33,501 to bring some new equipment and make improvements to the park this upcoming summer and spring!

Pre-registration & pre-payment are required – please be sure to upload any previous vaccine records when you register – forms will be pre-printed for your convenience so we are unable to accept rabies certificates or distemper history during the clinic.
We encourage everyone to use our convenient online form to pre-register for vaccine clinics. This helps keep our phone lines open for emergencies.

*Registration is available by phone during hospital hours for those without access to the internet by calling 508-637-1333. *A $5 manual registration fee applies.

IMPORTANT – If this is your puppy or kitten’s first vaccines, please check the minimum age requirements below. In order to keep our vaccine clinic prices low, if a pet’s age falls below the minimum age for the clinic day, registration fees may only be applied to a future clinic date or vet appointment.
Minimum Age Requirements for Vaccine Clinic:
Rabies: 12 weeks
Distemper: 6 weeks
Microchip: 8 weeks

You will receive an email with your arrival time slot and we ask that you plan to arrive no earlier than five minutes beforehand. There will be limited time slots, so pet-owners must be available for the entire time period of the clinic you sign up for.
No refunds will be available, so if you are unable to attend your registration fees will be considered a donation.

Dear Vendors and Supporters of the Fitchburg Dog Festival,

Thank you for your commitment and consideration to support our Fitchburg Dog Festival this year. Our volunteer team wishes to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support of our community dog park and pet parent community.

After careful consideration and monitoring of the weather forecast this weekend, our planning team has regrettably decided to cancel the Fitchburg Dog Festival scheduled for Saturday August 26, 2023. The forecast predicts heavy rain and thunderstorms that could compromise the safety and enjoyment of both attendees and our vendor participants.

We understand the dedication and effort you have put into preparing for the event, and we share your disappointment in not being able to bring the festival to fruition this year. The Fitchburg Dog Festival is built on the collective efforts of volunteers, our pet community friends and our supporting businesses, who have consistently demonstrated a passion for our community and our favorite dogs. We are incredibly grateful and look forward to the possibility of collaborating again in the future.

CMDART Training - Reading and Handling Animals under Stressful Situations

The Central Massachusetts Disaster Animal Response Team in collaboration with Fitchburg Fire Dept Is hosting this animal safety training suited to volunteers working with emergency situations, such as emergency animal sheltering involving pet owners. Presenters include volunteers from CMDART and local animal control officers. Participants will learn how to read animals behaviors and practice basic techniques on how to handle them in safe ways.

Hi I’m Marvel if your out and about and happen to see me ( while your walking or driving) please completely IGNORE ME and call my family asap to report the sighting. If you can get my family as many details as possible such as location, time and what I was doing. ( PLEASE DO NOT POST DETAILS HERE ON FB) As tempting as it is, please do not call my name, follow me or try to catch me because I’m very scared. My family, Missing Dogs Massachusetts and Leominster Fitchburg Animal Control all working tremendously hard to get me back to my family. They have a good idea where I’m hanging and working towards hopefully trapping me!! ( hope they have some bacon in there 🥓)

A little about myself… about 2 years ago, I was flown to the US after a shelter in Korea took me in and saved me from being abused. Luckily I have an amazing family and they worked hard to help me build confidence. I have a little brother who is also rescued from Korea who played a big part in my confidence building and we are bonded. He misses me terribly ( I hear Pepe has been doing his part too, to help mark his territory to help me get home) and we can’t wait to play again!! My family and I just moved to Leominster a week before I accidentally went missing so I’m not too familiar with the area however I’ve done a great job at getting back to the general area I live now but having trouble navigating exactly where my home is.

Please please please help me and my family by RESPECTING MY SPACE, so I can stay settled in the area, they know I’m frequenting. My family says the community plays such an important role in my recovery. I heard you’ve shared my post so many times. The most helpful thing you can do is keep sharing and please just call my family if you see me!! Thanks everyone and once I’m home… we will share lots of pics and updates as my family appreciates everyone’s support!!!!!🙏🏻🐾🙏🏻🐾

We had a fantastic time at Thirsty Robot Brewing last night for YAPPY HOUR for the Fitchburg Dog Park! Place was packed and there were ALL THE DOGS on the patio...from little corgis to giant fluffy Leonberger, Bernese Mountain Dog, Puggles, Poodles oh my. It was so cute.

The Fitchburg Dog Park friends started in 2015 with the Fitchburg Parks call to action for a Community Dog Park--- by 2018 we had our grand opening! This year on Saturday August 26th 11am-3pm we celebrate 5 years of the Fitchburg Dog Park at fitdogfest.com Our volunteers empty the trash at the dog park and around at the dog waste containers, and we fundraise for and refill the mutt mitts all around Coolidge park and one at Gateway Park.

I took very few pictures but we had an amazing Coolidge Park Cleanup - Fitchburg Dog Park Cleanup with Keep Fitchburg Beautiful & Fitchburg Dog Park volunteers.
At least 12 volunteers joined us and picked up 7 bags of litter and 30 bags of leaves, a pile of branches, cleaned the fence all around, cut back trees and bittersweet, picked up toys and p**p, emptied the 3 green p**p cans and the two main Park trash cans, replaced the red cart, filled the free library with more books. Big day!! Park looks amazing. 😍

Good morning from the Fitchburg Dog Park 198 Townsend St Fitchburg.
Volunteers have emptied all the trash containers in and around the dog park and Fitchburg Street Hockey League, did a snowmelt p**per scooper check, and refilled all the mutt mitts. Going to pick up some additional p**per scoopers and schedule a little spring cleanup day :)
