We love donkeys! Did you know that donkeys need a different diet and feeding plan than horses? Donkeys adapted to live in harsh desert climates and are very efficient at processing feed. If we feed them similarly to horses they will be prone to metabolic disease, laminitis and other life threatening conditions.

Dr. Bruchman spent last week in Texas at an Occlusal Equilibration course. Many of you might wonder what that is exactly. Well, occlusal equilibration is a very technical way to float the horse's teeth to best divide the pressure of chewing across all their teeth evenly. This type of work leads to a longer life of the tooth, increased function of the mouth, and decreased pathology like fractures, diastemas, and periodontal disease.
Not all floats are created equal!

We are proud to have one of the only surgical lasers in Northern Arizona. This special laser allows us to cut and cauterize at the same time with no bleeding! Watch this short video to see this neuter and take note as we cut through the tissues that there is no blood loss! This tool becomes especially important for certain mass removals, delicate surgeries and BOAS surgery. We now use the surgical laser on all of our surgeries with no additional fees! Ask us if you want to know more about this amazing surgical tool.
