Genesis, Sandy, Cooper, Paris, and Cedar are among Eleventh Hour Rescue’s long-time residents who’ve been overlooked through no fault of their own. These good girls and boys deserve a place in a loving family, but try as we may, it just hasn’t happened for them. Maybe a little Luck o’the Irish is what’s needed to help them find their happily-ever-after. Last few days as February Dog of the Month, and Genesis has had no interest 😭

Meet Genesis, a 1-year-old squatty little pittie mix who was rescued from Hurricane Milton in Florida and is now in New Jersey in search of her forever home! This sweet girl weighs 55 lbs, is full of energy, and loves to play with both people and dogs. Genesis is s***ky and always up for fun, but she also has a softer side and enjoys snuggling up for some cuddle time. She is happy-go-lucky, but also can be a bit nervous and prefers not to be homed with young children. Genesis is the perfect dog if you want an adventure buddy. 🏔️ She is great in the car, enjoys going on walks and hikes, and is always game for whatever you’ve got planned.

Meet Cooper - he is currently between 1 - 2 years old and 42 lbs. He was found abandoned and skinny on the side of the road, with a scar on his neck from an embedded collar. While it appears Cooper hasn't had the best life, you would never know it from his appreciative nature and friendly disposition! He is good with other dogs, but comes on super strong! Cooper is learning to walk on a leash and to sit and wait (rather than jump) for attention. He is a quick learner.

Cooper loves all people but since he is so energetic, older or considerate kids would be a better fit for this sweet boy. He is also house trained and crate trained.

Meet Kylo, a resilient pup who was originally rescued from a Texas shelter, overcoming a broken jaw and a bad skin condition. Life improved dramatically for Kylo when he made his way to New Jersey, where he was adopted for a time but returned when his adopters couldn’t provide the time and training he needed. At about 5 years old and 45 pounds, Kylo is a playful dog who thrives with plenty of chew toys and the company of another balanced dog that can match his energy as he has enjoyed many play dates and sleepovers with a volunteer’s pup! He is neutered, current on shots and microchipped.

Kylo gets a bit anxious in social situations and is most comfortable when given a quiet space while company is around (he's fine with it and we'll even provide a white noise machine for him!). Despite his initial nervousness, Kylo's a bundle of joy with a playful spirit who enjoys being carried around like a baby by his favorite volunteer. He would flourish in a home with a confident handler.

Kylo is looking for an active adopter who has time to spend with him, as he loves attention and will curl up in your lap given the chance. Meet Lucky! Lucky is a Labrador Retriever/Cattle Dog mix who was sadly surrendered after his former family decided they could no longer care for him. Despite this rough beginning, Lucky remains a deeply affectionate dog who bonds quickly and loves his people unconditionally. After several years at our kennel, we are hoping that his luck turns around and someone sees him for the amazing dog that he truly is and offers him a forever home.
