Willowdale demonstrates its commitment to quality care by its continued membership and accreditation by the American Animal Hospital Association. As a member of AAHA since 1988, we at the Willowdale Veterinary Center are dedicated to providing excellence in small animal care. Our hospital is evaluated regularly by AAHA to ensure that we meet or exceed their association’s high quality standards of

excellence. These standards cover nearly every aspect of our hospital including surgery, pharmacy, laboratory, exam facilities, pet health records, cleanliness, emergency services, dental and nursing care, diagnostic imaging and anesthesiology. Fewer than 14% of animal hospitals in North American are accredited by AAHA, which is recognized around the world as the benchmark for quality care in veterinary medicine. Willowdale invites you to visit www.willowdalevets.com and learn more about many pet health care concerns. During your visit to Willowdale you may want to take additional time to enjoy the murals on the walls throughout the entire hospital. They were painted by a special friend of the practice.

We've received a lot of incoming calls and questions regarding the respiratory disease in dogs. I'm attaching a link to what we know about this disease in our state. If your dog is exhibiting any respiratory symptoms, let us know as quickly as possible. We are taking extra precautions to reduce contact with patients that may have exposure. Well everybody, there is just no way around it. The storm is coming. The county is announcing closures for Wednesday and out of an abundance of caution and the inability to travel safely, our staff will also be hunkering down at home on Wednesday. Please call us today before 6 and absolute last call tomorrow for any medication refills before the storm arrives. We plan to reopen on Thursday pending no county curfews, power is on, and all staff members are able to travel the roads safely. Please call us on Thursday to confirm we have reopened if for any reason another post here has not been made. Everyone stay safe!

Another post for everyone to be prepared. We have a LOT of new clients in the area, most of us are used to hurricane season but many of your new neighbors are not. Here is a list to help guide those who are new or maybe need a refresher. If you haven't prepared yourself for this week, today is the day to get it done. Things sneak up fast. Even just a day of heavy rains can lead to flooding and power outages making life just a bit more difficult. But some low lying areas near the creek and river need to be extra prepared. Know your zones as well! Do you already know yours? The county will be updating with information soon for any shelters who allow pets if you are in an evacuation zone.
