West is heartbroken over the fact that he is still here. He wonders what is so wrong with him and why nobody seems to want to love him. He constantly looks at the cars in the parking lot when he goes for a walk, almost as if he’s waiting for his owner to show up for him… but nobody ever does.

West is an amazing boy who will make you laugh and fill your home with so much love. He’s around 5 years old and 61 pounds. He requires a meet and greet with any other dogs living in the home, but his dream is to be your one and only. West would be most comfortable with older children who can keep up with his active lifestyle.

West has a special request that he asked us to share with all of you… He asks that you take a moment to share his post so he can find his forever family before Thanksgiving. He goes to bed every single night with crossed paws praying for his people to come along and save him. He dreams of waking up Thanksgiving morning with a family that is happy to see him, that calls him a good boy, and that saves him a cozy spot by the fireplace.

Walk with me; don’t just walk me. Slow down and see the world as I do. I know you’ve got things to do, places to be. But out here, with the ground beneath our feet and the sky above us, there’s a whole world worth noticing.

The autumn chill is in the air today, crisp and full of new smells. It’s different from yesterday, and different from the day before. Every day is new. The leaves crunch under my paws, and I stop to breathe in the rich, earthy scent of them. To you, it might just be a pile of leaves, but to me, it’s a story—one I can’t help but dive into, nose first.

There’s a squirrel somewhere nearby, I can sense it, darting up a tree, its tiny heart beating fast. And the wind carries whispers of things far away: a family cooking dinner, the trace of a cat that passed by early this morning, and the faint perfume of flowers holding on to their last bit of summer. It’s all here, swirling around us if you just take the time to notice.

You tug on the leash, eager to move on, and I can tell you’re thinking about something far away from here. But when we walk, truly walk, you and I can be in this moment together. Feel the cool air brush against your skin, let it wake you up. Notice how the sun filters through the branches, casting shadows that dance on the pavement. Hear the crunch of the leaves beneath our steps, like a secret rhythm just for us.

To you, it might be just another walk, a daily routine to tick off the list. But for me, every step is an adventure. Each scent is a clue, each sound a piece of a puzzle. When you walk with me, really walk with me, you’ll see it too. The world is bigger than what we’re rushing toward. It’s right here, in the small moments, in the quiet spaces between your thoughts.

So, slow down. Breathe. Let the chill fill your lungs and the colours fill your eyes. Walk with me, don’t just walk me. See the world as I do, if only for a little while. It’s all waiting for you, just beneath the surface.

Urgent: 🚨 Help Our Longest Waiting Dogs & Struggling Dogs Find 🏡Homes

Since July and August, these sweet souls have been waiting for their second chance, and shelter life has been tough on them. Thumper, West, Amber, Maple, Cabernet, Chuck, Arlo, Kain, Beauty, Puppa, Memphis, Cinderella, Azalea, and Lillith have spent nearly every hour in their kennels, hoping for someone to take them home. They only get out for a few minutes once or twice a day, waiting and wondering when their person will come.

These dogs are all unique, all beautiful, and all desperate for love. With the holidays approaching, they deserve to be in warm, loving homes, not confined to a lonely kennel. Please consider being the hero they so deeply need.

Each of these pups is currently at Genesee County Animal Control, located at 4351 W. Pasadena Ave., Flint, MI. Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 12 to 6, and Saturday from 10 to 2. (They’ll be closed Saturday, November 9, in observance of Veterans Day.)

The gift of a home could bring so much happiness into their lives. If you can’t adopt, PLEASE SHARE —just one share could make all the difference. Let’s give these forgotten faces a chance to feel loved this holiday season.

This November marks Bark Avenues 20th Anniversary!! Jodi and I would like to Thank all of our amazing clients for your friendship, support, and trust! You are all appreciated more than you know for you have allowed us to fulfill a dream, of working doing what we love!! WE NEED YOUR HELP!!

We are very excited but sad for Dr. Rutsey. She will be leaving us for a medical director position at a corporate veterinary hospital. So this is where we need your help…..we need a new doctor!

Here is the deal….If you refer a new doctor to us and they are hired, you will receive a finders fee up to two years of regular veterinary care for two pets. This will include exams, vaccinations, heartworm test and prevention, f***l, annual bloodwork, and dentals! It will very depending on if the doctor takes a full or part time position. Potential doctors can contact us for information on compensation.

This a a new and unusual way to find a doctor, but we thought we would give it a try!!
