A weary path traveled. I retired and got a puppy LOL! The only puppy training class I could find was at one of those chain pet stores. Their solution to her leash pulling was to put her in a harness. I found a trainer at a dog facility who told me not to get my hopes up as she was a hound. I moved to Georgia. I found another dog facility but they didn’t focus on basics as they focused on agility and scent work. I found a local breed club but their focus was on purebred showing. I cast my net further and found OCC. OMG they not only had tiered training classes but membership and cost of classes was more than reasonable. They didn’t care that my dog was a mix breed hound and they got to work training me. The dog did great and the club never criticized me for having to repeat a class more than once. It really is about training you to train your dog. I also found a community of like-minded people who had social events, who could talk dog and tell stories, who cared and supported each other.
So for new/newer members welcome. For all of you who have supported and cared for me and my now pack of canines from the bottom of my heart – Thank You!
