March-April 2024! Working on our balance, sitting forward vs sitting back and when to sit which way! Plus weβve studied parts of the hoof, hoof & pastern angles, and horse colors!
We had the ABSOLUTE BEST time at Dixie National the past 2 weekends! Starting out with watching our friends show their cattle & going to the MJCA kids Dixie Dance, then this weekend was 3 days of tailgating fun, riding horses in the parade & on the fairgrounds arenas, watching the rodeo & concerts, and letting the students play in the barn & the camper! I love my students & their families for helping with everything & making this so fun!
*tempero-mandibular joint* attaches the mandible (bottom jaw bone) to the skull! Horses grind their forage & grains in a side to side motion vs humans chew their food with an up & down motion!
Winter storm day 2! The pipes froze even though they were wrapped! Thanks to McKenna Gray Fowler for the pot of boiling water at the last minute! And thanks to Shea Mayfield Carter for the hot meal, the hand warmers, and the water trough at Sunnybrook Cares location! Addy helped bust water troughs at the Madison location today and all horses are happy with their extra hay & hot mash! They love my secret ingredientβ¦. Apple juice!
