Luna (previously Gizmo and pictured on the top step) left OCHS a year ago and has been living like a princess. Dale (now Jasper) has recently joined the family and they are living their best lives together! We are grateful to adopters like these who provide their cats with plenty of space and time to get to know each other. These two wasted no time in deciding they are FURRENDS, but it's important to remember that every animal introduction is different according to the animals being introduced. When you're ready to adopt, come see us! Our team loves creating happy tails and sharing information about how to successfully integrate a new pet into a family. Thanks for choosing to adopt!

137 shares and still no one has come for Moxie. Please keep sharing, FURRENDS! This girl deserves a home for the PAW-lidays!

Yesterday our Facebook family worked a miracle for senior cat Dixie by sharing and caring. Within TWO HOURS (thanks to your shares) she was on her way home. Can we do the same for Moxie? She's long overdue for her shot at happiness!
8-year-old Moxie arrived in our care as a victim of salmon poisoning. She and 8 other dogs from the home spent FIVE days at the emergency vet hospital before arriving at OCHS. Since then, Moxie has gone home a couple of times without success. This does not mean she's not a great dog or that the families didn't try hard enough. What it DOES mean is that now we know more to help Moxie find the right fit for her and a very lucky family.
Moxie is starting her ELEVENTH MONTH in the shelter. No dog should be in a shelter that long - especially one as sweet and joyful as Moxie. Please share and let's find her the perfect family!
What we do know: Moxie is dog selective. She lived with 8 other dogs and seems to do well with some dogs her size. She has too much interest to live with small dogs or cats without a really experienced handler who is willing to go extremely slow to make it successful. Moxie can be reactive on the leash but we're seeing great results through positive reinforcement training with her and a head halti. Our dedicated team can share more when you come to meet her. Moxie is medium energy, housetrained, an a total love bug. She has no idea she's a big dog - she just wants to cuddle with her person. Could that be you?
Moxie's adoption fee has been waived so that the right family can spoil her with treats, toys, and a soft bed instead. Please share and let's work some magic for Moxie. Thank you, everyone!

UPDATE: Dixie has gone home! Thanks for sharing, everyPAWdy!

Meet Dixie. She arrived this week after her person passed away. Dixie is looking for a new home to finish out her life. She is 20 years old, declawed, and gets an arthritis injection once a month. This poor girl is grieving so we are asking for a kind cat angel to please consider bringing Dixie home. Her adoption fee has been waived. Dixie is upstairs in our breakroom if you’d like to come spend time with her. Please share and let’s find her a home.
