***After 1 whole year of being in the shelter, Baxter was just adopted!!!***
This handsome boy is Baxter! He unfortunately has been at the shelter for a little over a year now. He was surrendered to us when he had salmon poisioning and the current owner could not afford the expensive treatment. He was surrendered with 2 other dogs and multiple puppies, all who have been adopted now. Baxter is an exuberant boy who is extremely food motivated. This helps tremendously with his training. Multiple shelter staff and volunteers have been training Baxter to help him learn leash manners and other basic obedience skills. The perfect home for Baxter would be an active person or couple, since he benefits greatly from long walks/hikes. He would do best without children in the home. Please consider stopping by the shelter to meet Baxter!
Herschel, a 2-year-old Pomeranian mix, and Buddha, a 1 1/2-year-old miniature poodle terrier mix, are two wonderful small dogs that keep getting overlooked here at the shelter. Both are ready to go home! Buddha is a spunky boy that would thrive in an active home and he loves to play with other dogs. Herschel initially is very shy, but quickly warms up when you play tug with him and have yummy treats for him! When Herschel bonds with his person, he does not want to share and would love to be the only dog in the home.
Remember little Josie (now Bitty) who was adopted a few months ago? She’s living her best life in Bend, and her mama has a great solution to exercise when the snow is taller than Bitty! Thanks for the PUPDATE!
Meet Wispa! He came in as a stray in pretty rough shape. With the help of the amazing team at OCHS he’s on his way to recovery. Wispa isn’t quite ready to find his new home just yet. As he’s overcoming his medical issues, he’s also working on his behavioral issues. He’s a quirky little guy who would like to thank the OCHS team, community and donors who make his care possible. Consider donating today to help not just Wispa, but all the animals in our care. Share his story and help us save them all!
