Meet Moose
MOOSE NEEDS RE-HOMING, NOT FOR GUARDIANSHIP
Small Standard Size Bernedoodle Tri-Color Merle Wavy Coat
THE STORY OF MOOSE
Moose is a 2.5-year-old small standard (50 #) neutered Bernedoodle. He is a beautiful animal with a tri-colored coat of black, brown, and white in the classic pattern of the Bernese Mt. Dog plus he has blue merle markings, very unique. I received Moose from his breeder when he was three months old. From the beginning, I realized he was shy around people except for me.
I thought, however that he would overcome his shyness once I started to socialize him. Yet, here I am, 2 years later, 3 trainers later, and Moose’s personality hasn’t changed. The recommendation from the last behaviorist ‘trainer’ was to not try and socialize him but let him be himself and don’t force him to interact with people unless he wants to.
MOOSE’S PROS
- Sweet
- Loving
- Loyal
- Not aggressive
- Good with other dogs
- Doesn’t shed
- Healthy
- Crate trained/potty trained/lease trained (Plus, he knows other commands, i.e., sit, etc.)
- He’s okay at the vet and at the groomer's
MOOSE’S CONS
- Won’t interact with people
- Barks at times*
- Counter surfs for food*
* These traits are fixable
BOTTOM LINE
Moose needs to be with people that won’t expect him to be lovable with others except for the one person he considers his ‘Alpha’. He has tons of love to give and wants to share his life within the right environment. Ideally, I wish for him a family with only one person or perhaps a couple. Unfortunately, I really can’t keep him. If any of you know of someone that might welcome a dog like Moose into their life please pass along my information as I would love to speak with them.
Thank you for any help you can give to me and Moose.
