This is very true and well written. Before just buying a horse. You need to learn how to be the leader they need, you need to be competent and confident. Competent enough to help the horse when they are bracing, distracted or unwilling to cooperate and confident enough to have patience to work with the horse you are riding. Some days your horse is supple and willing. Other days they may decide to see what they can get away with. You have to take a few moments to access the horse you are riding and adjust your plan to what is best for the horse. All of our students are learning ground work to connect with the horse before getting on the saddle. What do you do to keep you and your horse safe and willing to partner up with you?

Started foggy and cool which was nice!
Our helpers had each camper go, back up, how to do a ‘one rein stop’ and turn their horse.
We had a fun day, they all are ready to show their skills they learned to parents and grandparents tomorrow at the end of the day.
