Bring those gators in when you pick them up from the processors. You’ll get back a degreased, true bone white color skull, no meat left in the teeth, and no missing teeth. Staining is also available for old or new skulls. These are no easy European mounts to do the correct way. If you chose to do them yourself I will be happy to give you advice. Don’t let your trophy and memory fail on poor work.

CWD samples are required during the velvet season and can be turned in here at Chops! Goodluck!

You can now purchase Velvet Season Permits for the Velvet Buck Season that is September 15-17, 2023. These permits are available to purchase where hunting and fishing licenses are sold. The cost of the permit for residents is $10.00. For non-residents, this permit is included in your $100.00 deer permit.

This 3-day archery season is only on private lands and only legal bucks only may be harvested. Hunters are required to report any harvest and submit CWD samples.

Velvet Season takes place this weekend - September 16-18!

All harvested bucks must be submitted for CWD sampling to a MDWFP CWD Drop-off freezer or to an MDWFP participating taxidermist within 5 days of harvest.
