Fact or Fib?! Fleas and Ticks are only active in the warm months? ………

FIB - ITS FALSE!! 😱

Monthly prevention is for EVERY month (thus the reason called “monthly,” prevention 🤭)!

According to the CAPC (Companion Animal Parasite Council) website, collected data in the cooler months that many may refer to as “off season,” reveals that pets are still at a higher risk for infection, all across the US! 🐜

Currently, in this very cold month of November, pets are at a 1 in 12 risk for exposure- RIGHT HERE IN MORRIS COUNTY 🫣

The AVMA and CAPC recommend that pets stay protected by using monthly prevention and keeping up to date on vaccinations!

Feline idiopathic cystitis (FIC) is a common bladder inflammation condition in cats with an unknown cause. 🐈💥

It’s not usually serious, but can be uncomfortable. 😿
FIC is different from a bladder infection, which is caused by bacteria, and is considered a sterile disease. Diagnostics and testing are required to rule out if your cat is experiencing a UTI or suffering from FIC!!

Ever noticed a red, round swelling in your dog’s eye that looks like a cherry? 🍒 It might be cherry eye! This condition happens when the third eyelid gland slips out of place — and while it may look alarming, it’s treatable.

Common in breeds like Cocker Spaniels, Beagles, Boston Terriers, Shih Tzus, and French Bulldogs, cherry eye often requires surgical correction for the best results.

This sweet girl recently underwent extensive orthopedic surgery on her knee, and through it all, she has been the definition of a trooper. Despite the pain, Nicci has kept her gentle, loving spirit shining bright and has stolen every heart here at the hospital. 💕
