VCA Angel Animal Hospital has been an important part of the Flower Mound community for over 20 years. Not only do we offer the highest quality medical, surgical and dental care, but our expanded services include rehabilitation, ultrasound, digital dental radiography and so much more. Our doctors and staff understand the unique needs of our feline patients and want to do everything possible to make

their visit to the veterinarian as stress free and comfortable as possible. Our facility includes a feline-only waiting room, two feline-only exam rooms, and a special feline intensive care and surgery recovery area. We are proud to have a cutting-edge Rehabilitation Clinic that enables our veterinarians to provide innovative treatments for pain, surgical recovery, arthritis, neurological deficits and many other conditions that have previously been treated solely with medication. Our facility, run by two certified canine rehabilitation therapists, includes an underwater treadmill (great for pets trying to shed those pounds!), a pulsed signal therapy unit and a therapeutic laser. Our hospital also includes a large luxury boarding facility so that your pets can have the ultimate in comfort and care when you must be away from home. Canine guests can choose from large suites to smaller condominiums, and our feline friends lounge in our quiet, double suites with full-length window views located far from the hubbub of the hospital. Howdy Friends and Happy FriYay!

We hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with quality family time, gratefulness and excellent food!

This FriYay we have a lot to be thankful for as my pal Nadia recently passed her licensing exam to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician! This is a huge accomplishment as she had to complete years of schooling and pass three different exams. Next time you see her, be sure to congratulate her on this huge honor - she worked her tail off to become an advocate for your fur family. Did you know there are only 12,000 people in the state of Texas with this certification - Great work Nadia!

At VCA Angel we are so lucky to have the best technician team around - you know them through their kindness and commitment to your pets and fur family with each appointment. I'm sure thankful for all of their love and advocating for the health of myself and our patients. This holiday season be sure to sprinkle a little extra gratitude when you're in - hopefully you too feel how appreciative we are for our amazing clients.

Canine influenza, or “dog flu,” is a highly contagious respiratory illness that can be passed from dog to dog. It typically starts with a cough and can be mistaken for the more common and well-known Bordetella. In some cases, canine influenza can progress to pneumonia.

Howdy Friends and Happy FriYay!

I'm here with my pal Heather this week to celebrate a very important holiday - Veteran's Day! This past Monday our country celebrated and thanked our veterans for their service and sacrifices. Did you know Heather is a veteran herself? She sure is! She spent time in the Navy serving our amazing country - thank you Heather!

Even though we have one day set aside each year to thank our Veterans, I think we should do our best to thank them whenever we can! Did you know that there's about 15.8 million veterans here in the United States? We have a lot of hoomans that deserve a 'thank you'!

Friends, if you know a Veteran, be sure to tell them we appreciate them - we wouldn't have our freedoms and incredible country without them.

If you are Veteran yourself, thank you for your service - your fur family and country cannot say thank you enough.

As promised... I am here this week with my super talented pal Maggie as she is our pumpkin decorating champion for 2024! Yay Maggie! Isn't she so awesome?

We had over 150 votes and Maggie was the winner with 52 votes herself!
A couple of cute facts about the star of her pumpkin:
- Garfield was born in 1978 in a restaurant kitchen
- Apparently he is a huge lasagna fan
- He is the star of a comic strip

Ben's Blog 7/19/24 Howdy Friends and Happy FriYay! I am escaping this Texas heat with some swim time of my own and learning how to get in and out of the pool - trying to be the safest pupper I can be! Before your pup enjoys the water and sunshine, let's review some safety tips! It is important to familiarize your pup with the pool and the exits. This is crucial in the event that we accidentally fall in and can easily get ourselves out. The best way to do this is to get in with us and lead us over to the stairs multiple times so we can remember if we are ever in a scary situation - you can see my Grandpa helping me learn! Never ever leave your pup outside near a pool unattended and unsupervised - this can lead to a tragic situation especially for our senior pups as they can struggle with their strength and stamina. If you have a pool, look into different options like safety fences or life jackets for your pup! Also, make sure you monitor our swim time - too much swimming can lead to muscle fatigue and ingestion of too much pool water which can actually be toxic for us pups. So even when we want to drink from the chlorine or saltwater pool, tell us no... we will thank you later! Have some real family fun this weekend and think about an opportunity for pool safety. Ben's Blog 2/9/24 Howdy Friends and Happy FriYay! I am making my Super Bowl prediction today and I would like to remind all my hooman friends that I chose correctly last year... Will I go 2 for 2 with this year's pick?! Lets be honest, I am rooting for the commercials and snacks... But hey Go Chiefs! I know both teams worked incredibly hard to make it to the final championship game and we wish them all the luck! Just a reminder that those tasty snacks you are going to enjoy at your watching party are likely not pet friendly so lets avoid any chance of an upset stomach or pancreatitis this Sunday! We will just be happy to spend time with you hoomans on the couch watching TV! Be on the lookout for any commercials featuring us pups - those will be my favorite of course!
