FezentRun Vizslas

Breeding quality vizslas for field, performance, and show. When I was 9 years old I joined a local 4-H club. From that moment on I was hooked.

My first dog, Abbott was a golden retriever/beagle mix and he had a lot of issues. He was aggressive due to abuse he had suffered as a newborn puppy. I worked hard with Abbott and learned a lot about dog behavior and dealing with aggression. When we showed for the first time at the county fair I was so nervous I cried and cried. I actually had to be coaxed into the ring by my advisors and my mothe

r! I dried my tears and came out of that ring with 5th place in obedience. I began showing a norwegian elkhound in AKC conformation when I was 11. From there I branched out into obedience, rally, and agility. I saw my first vizsla when I was about 12 and fell in love! I begged my mom for one for years, but she always said they were too high energy. I met my husband Andrew when I was 25, and 2 years later we bought our first vizsla, Maverick. He is the light of our life, and even though we already knew a lot about vizslas we never imagined the insane level of love and devotion that these dogs can give. 2 years later we brought home Rio, who will be the first breeding bitch in our kennel. We could not be more proud of our new baby! This little girl is set on course to do great things and we look forward to the beautiful puppies she will produce.

No more pity party for Ms. Patsy Cline because she has found her forever home and is ready to show everyone what she can do!

Patsy is now "Scout" and will get to be a little boy's best friend and first show dog. She is owned by the Fancher family (specifically their 6 year old son Liam), and will get to do whatever sports her heart desires including dock diving and flyball! Liam and I will share the duty of showing her in conformation and she will get to be his Jrs dog in a few years when he's old enough. In the meantime, Dixie and I will get to see her every week at our Thursday night practices!

The next pup from the Country Classics to go solo is Waylon. He will get to live in WI with the Sleger family and be a great little brother to their vizsla Piper. He will have lots of land to explore and get to occasionally travel to the UP in MI. He's already adjusting well to being a northerner and is fitting right in. We are so excited to welcome the Slegers to the FezentRun family!

The first of the Country Classics (Levi X Dixie) to launch their solo album is Dolly Parton. She is now owned by Tammy Calico and Sharon Malnar, Levi's breeder and owner. She will live in AR with Tammy and get to show and compete in all the sports and hopefully follow in her daddy's paw prints!

It was an awesome weekend all over the country for the FezentRun crew!

In Placerville, CA 🌛Cal earned another point taking BOS over specials with his wonderful handler Colson!
In Bloomington, IL 🌛Endri picked up 2 more singles taking WB/BOW/OHBOB/OHGP3 yesterday and WB today!
And 🏞 Missi took RWB to her niece.

Back here in TX, the crew chased the bunnies toward their next titles.
🌛Possum had a blast learning how the game works
🌛Dream has a new love of bunnies and ended the weekend just 7 points shy of her BCAT
🍑Porter laid down 4 more excellent runs and is only 40 points away from his DCAT
🦋Bindi laid down 6 killer runs and is closing in on her FCAT

One more brag post! Last weekend in Marshall, team Awesome Possum went BOB from the classes. Then this past weekend they went BOS over specials to finish Possum's Championship!! I am so proud of Ava and all the hard work that she has put in to her puppy. Possum was not the easiest pup in the litter, but Ava wanted a do it all dog that matched her spicy spirit and sassy attitude. It was a bit of a rough start, but Ava has put in the work and the team has turned into everything I knew they could be!

Then they turned around and topped it off with Ava's first all breed Best Junior win!

The Country classics are 3 weeks old now. They are the most adorable rolly poly puppies. They are playing with each other and trying to escape the whelping box. They're working on learning to lap up goat milk and will start on their puppy milkshake soon!

Mr. Pax (Quimby X Dixie) rocked the show ring, finishing his Championship in just 3 weekends out with 3 majors, including a 5 point specialty major! He also garnered some OH group placements along the way. We knew this little snack was going to be something special and that's why we waited for his perfect home. So far, he has lived up to the hype!

Sadly we lost our first puppy. She was born with a facial deformity and only survived for a few breaths before passing. We made sure to kiss her head, give her belly rubs and let her know just how much she was loved before she left this world to watch over her siblings. But we still have 3 strong, healthy puppies to be thankful for! Dixie is being a fabulous mom and all the babies are already gaining weight. They will go see Dr. Chris for tails and dews tomorrow.

We had too much fun doing a sort of impromptu paw-ternity shoot with Dixie tonight. We had fun doing a pregasaurus shirt shoot, then I grabbed some things from the house to do a country theme for our Country Classics litter. I think it turned out pretty well! Thanks to Emily Rose Cunningham for shooting pics on your phone when my camera crapped out.

What a weekend the FezentRun crew had!

In Kerrville, TX 🌙Possum (Boomer X Star) wins back to back majors taking WB/BOW/OHBOB Sat and Sun. Then Sunday she went on to an OHGP1!!! We are so proud of her and her 9 year old handler, Ava! They are really coming together as a team!

In Franklin, TN 🌙Dream and Emmy held their own in a beautiful lineup at the Volunteer Vizsla Club of TN specialties. Their sister 🌙Endri took back to back RWB to the 5 point major in the all breed and the specialty on Saturday! On Sunday at the specialty, baby 🍿Pax (Quimby X Dixie) scored his first win taking WD for a 5 point major his first weekend out!

It was a great day all over the country for FezentRun vizslas!
🏅Rio, our foundation girl set out to prove that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks! She got a QQ and two 1st place ribbons at her second ever agility trial! At 7 years old, she's not slowing down one bit!
🐶 Matti takes WB/BOW in Humble, TX with her handler Rose for another point!
🌛 Endri takes BOS in Sweeps at the Wisconsin Vizsla Club specialty in Madison, WI among a huge and beautiful lineup of puppies! She was expertly shown by her owner Alyssa.

We're a bit behind posting, but we are so proud of Endri (Boomer X Star) and her owner Alyssa! They took Best of Breed at the Great American Dog Show in IL from the puppy classes a few weeks ago. Way to go team Endri! 🌛

We had a great start to 2024!

In Glen Rose, 3 of our Boomer X Star Dreamers picked up points!
On Sat, Emmy goes BOW for a 4 point major!
On Sun, Dream takes BOW for her own 4 point major!
On Mon, Possum takes BOW for her first 2 points (major broke by 1 dog)! Possum was expertly handled by her owner Ava.

With Luca's 5 point win in Dec, that puts 4 of our 6 show puppies on the board and 3 with one major down! We are so excited for the future of these puppies. Best of luck to our other 2 show pups, Cal and Endri who are just starting to dip their paws into the ring soon.

We're technically into 2024 already, but I'm deciding to jump on the 2023 wrap up wagon. Better late than never? Lol!
So, here are the FezentRun dog's 2023 accomplishments:

🇺🇸Star earned her OA, NAJ, and NF titles in agility. She finished her Silver Grand Championship and officially retired from conformation. She and Boomer also had a gorgeous litter of 8 puppies.
🍑Dixie earned her CAA in coursing, her RA in rally, and had 2 adorable little boys.
🦋Bindi earned her DCAT in FastCAT.
🥇Rio takes several Best Veteran wins, including a Veteran Group 1!
🌙Dream takes a Best Beginner Puppy in Show and several BPUP Group 1s!
🌊Max earned his CA in coursing and finished his Grand Championship with me. With his owner Belinda Tantalo, he earned his BCAT in FastCAT, his ACT1 in agility, RATN and RATO in barn hunt and killed it in scentwork finishing his SWN and SHDNE!
🌊Rossi owned by Steve and Barbara Bennett, finished her Grand Championship.
🐊Bentley owned by Lisa and Henry Brandt, earned her CA in coursing and is one major away from her Championship.
🐊Waverly earned her BCAT and CGC with her owners Lindsay and Jacqueline Thomason and finished her Championship with me.
🍑Porter owned by Claire and Kyle Christensen, earned his Championship and Grand Championship in conformation with several Best in Sweeps wins. He also earned his BCAT in FastCAT.
🏞Charley owned by Jaime and Joel Votaw, earned her Championship in conformation with her handler Memo and is well on her way to her Grand Championship.
🌙Endri earned her TKN and took several BPUP Group 1s with her owner Alyssa Perkins.
🌙Emerson owned by Lindsay Voss, takes Best Puppy in Show and some BPUP Group 1s.
🌙Luca owned by Paul and Belinda Tantalo, takes BOSS at the TGCVC specialty and Best in Sweeps his first day in the big kid ring!
🌙Possum owned and expertly handled by her kid Ava (Angie Nalls) takes BOS in Sweeps at her first big kid show.
🐶Otto owned by Lauren and Matt Walsh, started his show career and is almost done with 10 points and 1 major down!
🐶Matti owned by Harry and Donna Havins, is cruising along to her championship as well with very limited showing.

We are so proud of all our dogs and look forward to what they will accomplish in 2024. And a huge thank you to all their owners for letting them do all the fun things their hearts desire! We wouldn't be this successful without your support and training!

While we were busy in Orlando, Waverly (Sam X Bindi) was busy passing her Canine Good Citizen test with her owners! She is now CH FezentRun's She's a Beaut BCAT CGC

To finish out the year we took a trip to Orlando, FL and attended the huge Royal Canin show at the Orange County Convention Center.

Only Dream and Luca went on this trip with us, and their sister Endi came with her owner Alyssa. For 7 month old puppies, they really held their own in one of the nicest lineups of dogs I've ever seen!

Endri took RWB at the first 2 days of pre-shows, and won her class every day.
Dream took RWB at the pre-show on Thurs, and was 3rd in her class for the puppy stakes and the National Championship.
Luca took first in the BBE class every day, but didn't advance any further.

Overall, it was a great show and we are so proud of our puppies!

Oh so much to catch up on! We have been busy this holiday season! First, let's recap the show in Conroe.

At the TGCVC specialty on Friday Luca (Boomer X Star) takes Best in Sweepstakes and his sister Possum took Best of Opposite in Sweepstakes expertly handled by her owner Ava!
Then in the specialty, Waverly (Sam X Bindi) goes WB to finish her championship! Luca takes WD/BOW and goes on to take BOS over some of the top specials in the country! This was his first big kid show to boot! Momma Star took a lovely select win over top specials as well and Grandma Rio had a blast in the veteran ring.
Otto (Poco X Bindi) took WD/BOW on Sun for his first major and is cruising along to his championship in only a handful of weekends! His sister Matti had a couple reserve to the major wins, as did Dream (Boomer X Star).

After what feels like forever, we are super excited to say that Frito Man has found a home! When puppy sitting for the weekend turns into a forever home. ❤️ This little guy is just irresistible!
He is joining the Christensen family and his half brother Porter. I will get to show him and he will get to be their sweetest pet.

The first lil snack flew off the shelves! Formerly known as Cheeto or Tasmanian devil, he now goes by Ronin. He will get to live in Kemah, TX with the Sharkey family. Ronin will get to try whatever sports his heart desires and be a fabulous pet. We were just waiting for them to ask about the store's return policy, but so far it's been all good news for his first few nights in his new home! 🤣

Looking for a special home for a special guy! I really want to keep the genetics of this breeding in my program, but I just personally kept a puppy from my last litter and cannot keep another. Please read the ENTIRE post!

I am looking for someone in the TX, LA, OK area to take one of these sweet boys. I will gladly show him at my expense. I will also pay for all of his OFA testing after the age of 2. In turn, the owner will purchase the puppy, pay for normal daily care, and must be willing to leave him intact until at least the age of 7, but ideally for life pending any medical issue. We believe in minimal vaccines, heartworm and parasite preventative, crate training, and puppy training classes.

I maintain a very close relationship with my puppy owners, especially those who have puppies that I intend to keep in my breeding program. We really are all one big family!

Puppies are 7 weeks old today, so we do not know yet which one is most suited for show/field but both boys are promising!

In AKC pointing breeds hunt tests...Junior Hunter (JH), Senior Hunter (SH), Master Hunter (MH) - what's the big difference? 🤔

💛A JUNIOR HUNTER is scored on 4 categories:
(1-10; 10 being the highest)
1. Hunting
2. Bird Finding Ability
3. Pointing
4. Trainability

💛A Junior hunting dog must establish point on at least fifty(50) percent of the pointable birds it encounters. Junior hunting dogs must hold point until the handler gets within normal gunshot range. Junior hunting dogs must also show reasonable obedience to their handler’s commands.

🧡❤️A SENIOR HUNTER & MASTER HUNTER is scored on 6 categories:
(1-10; 10 being the highest)
1. Hunting
2. Bird Finding Ability
3. Pointing
4. Trainability
5. Retrieving
6. Honoring

🧡A Senior hunting dog must be steady to wing on ALL pointed birds and remain in position until released or the shot. If a senior hunting dog encounters it's brace mate on point, it must always honor it's brace mate. A senior hunting dog must retrieve.

❤️A Master hunting dog (in addition to the SH qualities), is a more polished, steady wing to shot on all birds. All shot birds must be retrieved promptly, tenderly, and always to hand. A master hunter must check-in with it's handler and demonstrate diligent obedience to it's handler.

All scores in AKC Pointing breeds hunt tests categories must never be below 5 and must have a combined average of 7 or higher.
