While I'm sure a lot of you have watched some tiktok/IG Reel which led you to believe these lovely blue vehicle decorations are going away, unfortunately, that's not the case. 😢

There are changes coming to the DMV's Registration System regarding inspections on January 1. The vehicle safety inspection, which checks your vehicle lighting, etc. is going away, HOWEVER, the emissions check will still be required in many counties (Tarrant/Dallas/Denton/Collin included) before you can register your vehicle.

Regardless of whether you live in an emissions-check county or not, everyone MUST register their vehicle and obtain one of these beautiful blue status symbols pictured here. An expired registration is a violation of traffic code and can result in a fine.
