Due to excessive last minute cancellations and No shows, we are now requiring no less than a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you do not cancel within that time frame we will require a 50% payment to reschedule. No call no shows will require full payment of appointment missed AND 50% deposit to rebook. There will always be exceptions to this for emergency situations on a case by case basis. If you feel you need a text reminder the week of your appointment please let us know at booking. The worth of Grooming

You get all sorts of dogs. Dogs that haven’t been to a groomer in over a year. Dogs that make you cry, make you frustrated and make you sad. Dogs that are matted head to toe. Dogs that are 3 years old and have never been to a groomer, let alone been outside of 4 walls. Dogs that fight you, kick you and bite you. Dogs that that are too anxious for a brush. Dogs that are fear-aggressive and ones that are just aggressive. Dogs that are unsocialized. Dogs that treat your shop like their own bathroom. Dogs that are too frail and weak that you know should’ve crossed that rainbow bridge. Dogs that are 100 lbs that break your back and 2 lb dogs smaller than the clippers. Dogs that take longer than they’re scheduled. Dogs that are unpredictable. Dogs that make you question why you do this job.

Then the clients.
You get all sorts of clients. Clients that don’t bring their dog in regularly. Clients that complain about your prices. Clients that think their time is more valuable than yours. Clients that blame you for their unkempt dogs. Clients that complain because their matted dog was shaved down. Clients that have never taken a brush to their dog. Clients that refuse to take direction or education. Clients that don’t pick up after their dog. Clients that scream and yell at you. Clients that leave bad reviews over the simple things. Clients that make you question why you still do this job.

But then there’s dogs that…

love coming to be groomed. Dogs that have been socialized. Dogs that give you lots of hugs and kisses. Dogs that are so happy to be there with you. Dogs that are fun to groom. Dogs that are well-mannered. Dogs that come in every 4 weeks. Dogs that get brushed regularly. Dogs that don’t cow kick you for a nail trim. Dogs that are so relieved after shaving their pelted body. Dogs that make you smile. Dogs that make every hard part of this job worth it.

But then there’s clients that…
Are willing to learn how to maintain their dogs coat. Clients booking on a regular schedule. Clients who brush their dogs. Clients who understand the maintenance that comes with their dog. Clients who are willing to pay your worth and more. Clients who are kind. Clients who look forward to seeing you every session. Clients that treat you with the outmost respect. Clients that care about your time. Clients that feel awful when they’re late. Clients that understand that their matted dog has to be shaved. Clients that have become friends. Clients that make this job worth it.

So in the end, this job is never easy but it is worth it🐾

🚨 🚨 Effective Immediately 🚨🚨

We all hate it but to continue to provide the service of loving your pups in a clean, convenient, reduced stress environment ALL grooming services for pups over 10lbs will see a 20-25% increase in prices. I have prevented from doing this so far and can not continue to bear the cost personally. The grooming industry has taken a big hit in the last few years. Shortage of qualified individuals to do the physical, patient , demanding job along with the Pups getting bigger and fluffier ( yes, the DOODLES) and more of them being breed. These clients take immense time and attention. As I am sure everyone is aware it is difficult to find a established groomer to take on this new phenomenon of “Designer Breeds”. I pride myself in being able to provide this service to all of my clients. I also deserve to supply myself with a fair pay for my services. There are many extra costs associated with this increase, the business model 6 months ago when the shop opened to now is a drastic change. Just to name a few for substance
• utilities (gas,electric,water)
• Equipment maintenance and supply (blade replacement, clippers, shears, sharpening, dogs damage)
• Insurance premiums
• Premium products to keep your pup comfortable and looking their best.

Anyone looking for an awesome little dude??

UPDATE: We want to thank everyone for their support of Hendrix but we ask that you please don't make hateful comments about the family who did not show. It was not our intention for them to receive the enormous backlash we are seeing in the comments, the purpose of the post is to help our longest resident find his forever home. We're grateful for the support but please remember to show kindness and respect to our fellow humans as well as our animal friends. You never know what a family may be going through. Hendrix has received a huge amount of applications following this post and will be meeting potential families today! We’ll keep everyone updated on when he finds his perfect fit.

Well, Hendrix is sad. He was supposed to meet a potential family today and he got all excited and dressed up... and they never showed. All of us at the Kentucky Humane Society love Hendrix so much and we just want him to have a great life with someone who will care about him as much as we do. He is house-trained, a professional toy destroyer, gives kisses, loves to nap, loves to go for walks, highly trainable and just a big snorting goofball! His dream home would be one where he can be the only animal, as cats are too tempting for him and he would probably be happiest as the only dog. But he has the biggest heart out there and so much love to give. Watching him wait excitedly for a family to come, only to be stood up, is devastating. We can't stand seeing our sweet boy sad. Please spread the word and help us find Hendrix his forever home! Lanesville Jaycees finding ways to support our community. We were approached by a member of the Heart Humane Society about donating our building space for a low cost spay and neuter event for cats for our community. That was an easy YES!!
