How does the aqua tread benefit our horses performance while helping prevent injury?💦
By utilizing the aqua treads unique capabilities of a low-cool impact workout to condition the body without adding additional strain, the horse is able to strengthen and condition in a controlled environment without the wear and tear of riding. Additional benefits to using the aqua tread include the buoyancy and coolness of the water, which relieves impact and joint pain. By treading, we are also improving endurance and oxygen capacity. The aqua tread is also considered a safe form of exercise for "bleeders." Unlike swimming, the aqua tread is a great modality to improve your horse's performance while still using concussion. By utilizing different water levels, we can target specific muscle groups, work on balance and core strength, and rehab injuries. Our tread also offers an incline option, allowing us to strengthen toplines faster and improve performance and endurance.

Last week we talked about how the vibe plate helped us in being proactive in reducing injuries during performance. This week we wanted to touch on the benefits of PEMF.
PEMF or Pulse as we like to refer to it, is another great non-invasive modality that we like to utilize for wellness and rehab.
When we use our Pulse machine, we apply electromagnetic pulses to the body, which amplifies the natural energy the body produces and helps the body function more productively. When using PEMF pre-performance, we can reduce inflammation, and in return, we can better the horse's range of motion. Another benefit is that by being proactive pre-performance, we can help the horse's muscles recover faster after competition. Studies have shown that PEMF used before pre-performance has decreased muscle fatigue after performance.

Many of our Flying S horses like to pair the vibe plate with the Pulse. We call this our "Wellness Sessions," and we offer a discount for pairing the two modalities together.
