Hey. This is Melly. They left me unsupervised and I have found things that crack me up - just to share with you.

This is not our usual fare. Take it to the boss.

(Also, happy holidays to all)

Join us on Saturday, December 7th, for pet pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus! You know Fideaux and Fluffy want a chance to tell Santa how good they've been all year!

Any well behaved critter that won't try to eat Santa's beard is welcome, though we suggest calling ahead if you have a pet so large that Santa needs to meet it outside!

Oh. Em. Gee. Thank yoooouuuuu, Mr. Silas Parker!

Our techs came in this morning to next to no water pressure, and eventually found a literal pond next to the building. Silas scootched us to the top of his list and got out here to get us patched up and going again. Nothing like digging and pumping on a Monday morning to get the holiday week going, eh?

It's good to have a new partnership going with the clinic and the hardware store - can't wait to have more opportunities to sing his praises! Also, all the critters have water again, and the benefit of that is hard to overstate. Thank you so much for getting our week back on the right track!

Folsom Veterinary Clinic will be closing at noon today (Sept 11) due to the storm. We may be open tomorrow, however that will depend on weather and power.

We strongly recommend you bring any outside pets inside during the storm, or ensure that they have a sturdy and secure shelter. Please stay safe.

07/02/2024

There are two business days until the 4th. If your dog needs anxiety meds, call your vet NOW.

Don't forget how many pets get scared enough to clear their fence every bang-bang holiday. Bring them in if at all possible!

05/18/2024

We are going to beg here.

Please don't just throw kittens out. Please don't just dump them on the side of the road. Please.

We will help if no one else will. We have two more kittens that we got in just two days this past week - one found in a culvert right after the huge storms, and one that looks like it was thrown from a moving car.

We understand that there are, frankly, too many pets in this world, more than people can take on. We will help you find resources for spays and neuters. We will help unwanted kittens if you let us help mom too.

They are born because we, as a whole, were careless. They shouldn't suffer for that, too.

Please let us help.

We are so excited!

We are one of fifty veterinary clinics in the US - and the only one in Louisiana - to be a part of Loyal's Dog Longevity study. Sounds amazing already, right? Wait. It gets better.

We are looking for dogs that we can verify are over ten years old and over 14 pounds. Be aware that there are some serious medical conditions that can eliminate your best friend from the study, but even some dogs with heart conditions could qualify. Call the clinic at 9eight5-7nine6-33one3 and we can check for you regarding any conditions your dog may have.

Benefits? Oh my word, the benefits. You get multiple free vet visits and bloodwork for your dog. Loyal sends to our clinic or to your home - again, free of charge - daily chews for your dog to take to test the efficacy of this longevity drug that they have developed. You also bring your friend for exemplary veterinary assessments and valuable diagnostics that could reveal any illnesses that you may not even know about yet.

Did I mention free?

You don't have to give up your regular veterinarian that you know and love, but we do have to share records with them. We also have to be able to verify age, via registration paperwork, vet records, rescue paperwork from when you got them as a pup, or even social media posts. There are four visits to our clinic in Folsom in the first year once you are qualified for the study, and then one or two visits per year for the next three years after.

You could be helping people all over the US to possibly have more time with their own little buddy - call today!

We had a client bring in a couple of teensy kittens this morning. They found them on the side of the road in front of Main's, and the kittens were covered in fly eggs. Maggots are Doc's weakness in veterinary medicine, but she regained her composure and grabbed flea combs and a tech. Blech. (The tech said it was like combing off mayonnaise. Yuck.)

Long story shorter, we are doing all we can for the newest members of the Folsom Vet family, Wakanda and Bluey. They are probably less than a day old, and Bluey had a mouth full of dirt when recovered and is less stable than Wakanda. They are getting a lot of love and attention and care.

We would welcome your donation to our Community Critter Care fund, for these babies and the others that will follow. Dm us with your name and cell number and how much you wish to donate, and we can send you an invoice for that amount that you can pay remotely. We are spending just cost on these and more, but keeping us close to breaking even helps us help more.

See below: Dr. Chalyn feeding Wakanda, Wakanda and Bluey snuggled up after Seventh Supper, and (eek) fly eggs removed with thumb for scale.
