One of the things we fail to always appreciate at Oak Hill is how much the horses learn to like people. The horses are all handled in such a way as to look forward to the appearance of a person. This is not always the case when outside horses come to stay at Oak Hill. They may walk away when people approach. Or hand their head in the corner of the stall showing little interest in the humans around them. Rendon exemplifies the positive response to humans. Mike Holiday, who recently retired from Oak Hill, always called Rendon up to feed by saying "Come on Big Red. Come on Big Red" Mike did a great job helping many many generations of young horses look forward to seeing him. You can see he taught "Big Red" well.

More desensatising. This is normally a little more involved. But as Rendon is pushy by nature he quickly learns to approach strange objects. Relax all. I never let him actually eat this stuff. He just tests it out.

I was desensatising Rendon to a plastic bag. It worked to well....
