Florida friends. Now is the time to prep to either ride out or evacuate. This storm may not hit as a Cat 5 (thankfully) due to strong wind shear. However, it may still be a very strong major hurricane. It all depends on how much it rapidly intensifies over the coming days, and how well it handles the shear itself. Prepare for the worst case scenario. Have a plan. DO NOT wait until the last minute to leave.
Horse folks, please reach out if you need assistance or guidance on where to evacuate to. I know there are several barns who are willing to take evacuees. We will help you find a safe place for you and your ponies.

Now that we have rested and rehydrated... show recap time! Super proud of both Ann Geisert Becnel and Ragen Marie Gwin for braving the heat and showing.
I took Cerys in her debut at third level and earned a respectable 63% despite being EXTREMELY green at this level. So very excited to see what we can earn once we get our act together.
Falx debuted at First 3, and earned a 64% with some spookiness, distractions, and just general heat exhaustion (I was dying at this point).
Ann's Vegas attended his first show and earned a 67 at training 3, with some tension and general greenness. So very excited for his future. Vegas then turned around and took his momma down the centerline in Intro A and they rocked it.
Ragen rode Mystic to a great 67.4 at Training 3, and a 63.8 despite heat exhaustion and a couple of mistakes. AND she won both classes.
Unfortunately Ann was unable to show Cerys, so Alex Johnson's student stepped up and catch rode her, and they were amazing together! Perhaps a budding partnership??

Well done to everyone else in the show who braved the heat. Huge thank you to Judi Sinclair-Dauterive for running another amazing show, despite numerous technical difficulties. Onwards to October.

Francine is starting to get better organized and is expected to begin strengthening over the next 24-30 hours. It is still expected to reach Cat 2 status.

The track has shifted further east, with landfall now expected around Morgan city. But could shift more to either side.
Final intensity will be determined by how much dry air intrudes the storm, as well as how much shear it experiences as it approaches the coast. Due to the shear, the storm will be ripped apart and the Mississippi coast may feel some tropical storm impacts.

Main threat is flooding due to rain, as well and water being shoved up the rivers. Also wind, with a tornado threat from outer bands.

Prep now, be safe.

Looks like it’s time for Louisiana to prep for a tropical storm. Still no closed center of circulation, so the path is still questionable, but models are in agreement that Louisiana is the target. We’ve been inundated with rain the past couple of days. these next few will give us a slight chance to dry out, but not much of one. So if you are in an area prone to flooding, prepare now.
The next day or so will begin to show what this system will do. Pay attention to your local Mets. Plan ahead, stay safe.

Falchion (Falx) is looking for his next partner! A four year old titled mustang from Antelope, NV. He stands roughly 15-15.1 hands and fills the leg very nicely. He is getting ready to debut First level, and is schooling second level movements. He loves to jump, and loves being a cuddle bug. A puppy dog personality for sure.
Needs someone to give him confidence, but can be ridden by an amateur. He is intelligent and thinks things through. Once he understands the question, he has got it.
He will be at the Amen Corner September Schooling show. Come see him and give him a try.
PM for price and videos.

Proudly offering Falchion (Falx) for sale.

A 2020 (approx) titled Mustang from Antelope, NV. Falx is a very sweet boy that I have worked with since he was 2.5. He has only been under saddle for just over a year and has competed up to training level dressage, schooling first level. He has jumped up to 2’3” and shown through pre-starter eventing.

Falx is as brave as his rider. He is very forward thinking but does question his confidence at times. He does trust what his rider says and pushes through what may be spooking him as best he can. He is a sweet, honest boy who just wants to be in your pocket. He loads easily and stands for the farrier. Happy to ride around in a ba****ck pad and just have fun.

Falx is not for a timid, beginner rider. He needs someone to give him confidence as he grows and develops. He can go any route whether it be dressage, jumping or eventing.

Asking low xx,###’s, starting with a 1, but negotiable to the right home.

Cerys never ceases to amaze me with her willingness to take on a new challenge. We spent the last 3 days working with the always amazing John Mason, and we finished with a completely different horse.
We worked on developing the quality of the gaits, and really focusing on maintaining said quality within the transitions, asking her to take more weight behind and push herself into the contact more. By Sunday, we had the making of an almost seasoned 2nd level horse, and the start of a 3rd level horse.
Her attitude throughout the entire weekend was just spectacular, even when asked the hard questions. I am so proud of how far she has come in just 2 years of being under saddle, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds.
Thank you again John, looking forward to the next time! Huge thank you to Olivia and Tina for making this happen!!
