Ecclesiastes 3:1 “For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.”

Recently, the doors of Timber Creek Farm were closed after about 30 years. Timber Creek was a place of learning, laughter, and love to many people.

For the blessing of Timber Creek Farm -established 1990 - by Jack and Linda Schweiger. The patronage of wonderful students, boarders, and team TC. Many of them cherished friends and the gift of amazing horses entrusted to my care.

TCF was the home to legendary horse Joe B Jammin, who took his first and last breath at the farm. In addition, TCF was home to many other successful horses and riders. I am thankful for the infinite love and support from my parents over the years. & I am beyond grateful to continue to educate and inspire Cowboys-Cowgirls of all ages.

As one door closes another one opens. I can’t say enough for the love and support of friends, students, and family. I will continue to give lessons and clinics(see flyer below for more information) at other various locations.

It's the 11th day of Christmas and time for another tip! Before a race I often liked to visualize a perfect run. Block any negative thing out of your mind and think about the run you are about to make. This is a lot easier when you have confidence in your horse.

Visualize the run that you want to make, visualize where your pocket is, and where you leave the barrel. Remember to help your horse by being in timing with them. Ride together and not against each other. This comes from a lot of time in the saddle!

After you run draw the run you visualized it on paper and then draw the pattern you just ran! Then learn how to study, where did your run differ from what you visualized. When I first started Barrel Racing there was nowhere to learn. I learned everything from experience. I wanted it bad enough that I was willing to take the time I needed to learn. Now there are resources everywhere to learn, but always learn from experience.
