It’s Feline Friday- Meet Finley! Finley is a 5-month-old spayed female that’s been under our care since June 21st of this year. Finley was brought to us as a stray along with her two siblings, Yoda (adopted) and Casey (available). Finley can be a little unsure at first when meeting new people and she prefers to observe you before she approaches you. Once she does warm up to you, she blossoms into a very sweet girl who loves attention and the occasional belly rub. Finley can be very playful at times, enjoying wand toys with feathers and spring toys. However, if you’re keeping her company she’d much rather prefer to spend time with you than to play with toys. When she’s not playing, she enjoys lounging around in a comfy spot in her playroom and observing her feline friends. Finley is great with other cats and is currently in a playroom with a few other kittens. She is inexperienced around dogs so we are unsure how she would react. Finley would love to come home with you this holiday season and watch lots of movies by the fireplace together. You can find out more information on Finley in her bio on our website, and if you’re interested in adopting this love bug, feel free to submit an application!
Runner
It's Feline Friday! Meet Runner! He is a 2-year-old neutered male that’s been under our care since June 26th of this year. Runner is a very sweet boy who tends to be overlooked since he would like to be the only cat in the household, but he is dog-friendly! Runner is a very fun guy that loves to spend time wandering around the lobby room getting all of his steps in for the day. He’s a big bundle of energy and is almost always on the go playing with a toy or zooming around. Runner is a huge fan of wand toys and especially loves it when they have feathers on them. When he’s not in a playful mood, he is quite the lover boy and wants to stay on your lap all day receiving some affection. He would love to find his forever home with lots of windows and comfy cat beds since he loves to birdwatch on top of his blanket. Runner does not react well around other cats, so he would like to be the only cat in your life, but he LOVES dogs, big and small! He would absolutely love it if he was able to find his “furrever” home this month so he can celebrate the holidays with you! You can find more information on Runner in his bio on our website, and if you’re interested in adopting this sweet boy, feel free to apply!
It’s Feline Friday! Meet Casey! Casey is a 5 month old spayed female that’s been under our care since June 21st of this year. Casey was brought to us as a stray along with her two siblings Yoda (adopted) and Finley (available). Casey can be a little more reserved at first than most cats, but once you’ve earned her trust, she blossoms into a purr machine. Once she gets to know you, she loves receiving lots of love and attention and will meow at you to ask for more. Casey is a very playful girl that can be quite clumsy at times, and she loves play-wrestling with her feline friends. When she’s not playing, she enjoys lounging around on a high spot on a cat tower so she can observe the world around her. Casey is great with other cats and just recently moved into a playroom with some furry friends. She has not been around dogs, so we are unsure how she would react. Casey would love to find her furrever home with someone that understands that she prefers to adjust at her own pace, but she’s worth it in the end! You can find out more information on Casey in her bio on our website, and if you’re interested in adopting this sweet girl, feel free to submit an application!
It's Feline Friday! Meet Tulip! Tulip is a 1-year-old spayed female that’s been under our care since April 24th of this year. Tulip came to us as a new mom with 5 newborn kittens, therefore the first few months of her stay were spent nurturing her kittens until they were strong enough to be on their own and be put up for adoption. Tulip is a very sweet girl that loves everyone she meets and will constantly beg you for attention by walking between your feet. She loves to give gentle licks and kisses to show you how much she enjoys your company. Tulip would much rather receive attention than play, but she does have a playful side and loves spring toys. She loves to spend her days lounging around on a cat tree or sitting on the windowsill waiting for someone to come and visit her playroom. Tulip does very well with other cats and is currently sharing a playroom with some feline roommates, but she prefers to be in charge and has her bossy moments. Tulip has not been dog tested so we are unsure how she would react. It’s this mama’s turn to be spoiled and she would absolutely love to go home with you! You can find out more information on Tulip in her bio on our website, and if you’re interested in adopting this lovely girl, feel free to apply!
Solstice
It's Feline Friday! Meet Solstice!
Solstice is a 2-year-old neutered male that’s been under our care since June 21st of this year and is a staff favorite. Solstice has had a harder time getting adopted than most cats because he would like to be the only animal in the household. Solstice is a very fun boy who loves to run around getting all of his energy out before coming over to you to receive some love. He can be very playful and loves almost every toy you give him, but really enjoys wand toys and jingle balls. Solstice loves to burn his energy by running around the lobby at full speed, sometimes losing his footing beneath him. Once he’s finally worn himself out, he enjoys lounging around on one of the benches or a chair by the staff getting some affection. Solstice would love if his “furrever” home had lots of windows since he really enjoys birdwatching throughout the day on a comfy blanket. Solstice does not react well to other cats or dogs so he would like to be the only pet in your house, reserving all your love and attention for himself. Solstice will provide endless entertainment for the lucky person who chooses to adopt him, and would love it if that could be you! If you’re interested in adopting this fun guy feel free to apply!
You can find out more information on Solstice in his bio here https://www.fdlhumane.org/pets/solstice/.
It's Feline Friday!
Say hello to Explorer! Explorer is a 9-month-old neutered male who was born at the shelter on January 7th of this year! He is currently our longest resident, through no fault of his own. Explorer has watched his mom, siblings, and some friends all get adopted but he’s still waiting for it to be his turn. From a young age, we could tell that Explorer was a little more independent than most cats. He’s not a huge fan of receiving physical affection, he prefers to receive affection in the form of treats and toys. Explorer can be slightly hesitant at first when he meets new people, but he warms up easily with some treats for encouragement. He’s a very playful kitten who loves any toy he can get his paws on, including spring toys and wands. He would love a “furrever” home with a few cat towers since he enjoys sitting on top and observing everything, especially birds. Explorer gets along very well with other cats and is currently in a playroom with a few others. He has not been dog-tested so we are unsure how he would react to dogs. Explorer has waited a long time to be adopted and would love to go home with you!
You can find out more information on Explorer in his bio linked below. If you’re interested in adopting him, feel free to apply!

Midnight
It's Feline Friday! Each Friday we will share more about one of our adoptable cats. 😺
Say hello to Midnight!
Midnight is a 6-year-old spayed female. She’s one of our long-term residents at the shelter, having been in our care since March of this year. She’s had a harder time than most getting adopted, we think because she’s a shy girl she gets overlooked. Though she can be very shy at first, with some patience, she eventually comes around and opens up. She would love a home with someone who understands that she’s a slow adjuster and it might take a while to gain 100% of her trust, but we can tell you she’s worth it! She gets along well with other cats and is currently in a playroom with a few others. However, since she’s shy, she would do best in a home with no dominant or bossy cats, as they’d be able to pick up on her submissive personality and would likely pick on her. Midnight has not been dog tested, but she would probably do best in a home with no dogs because loud noises, such as barking, can easily startle her. She doesn’t seem to enjoy most toys she’s been offered, but she does have a soft spot for wand toys, especially ones with feathers. However, that could change in a home environment, and her playful side could come out. Midnight is a couch potato and would be the purrfect cat to lounge around with you all day long watching movies or reading a book. She’s still looking for her forever home and would love it if you were willing to take a chance on her! You can find out more information about Midnight in her bio here: https://www.fdlhumane.org/pets/midnight/
