Retail Associate
Position Overview:
As a Retail Associate at Paws and Claws Depot, you will be the face of our store, helping customers find the best products for their pets, answering questions, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires passion for animals and a desire to assist pet families with their needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers and provide a welcoming store experience
Assist customers in selecting products, such as food, toys, supplies, and live animals
Answer questions about product benefits and uses, ensuring customers make informed choices
Maintain clean and organized shelves, displays, and stockrooms
Operate the cash register, handle transactions, and process returns
Monitor live animal health and care for animals in the store, ensuring they are fed and comfortable
Stay informed about current promotions, sales, and new product arrivals
Assist in setting up in-store displays and merchandising
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Previous retail experience preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic knowledge of pets, pet care, and related products
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Passion for animals and customer service
Shift Leader
Position Overview:
The Shift Leader at Paws and Claws Depot assists the store management in ensuring a smooth-running operation during assigned shifts. This role involves leadership responsibilities, such as supervising team members, ensuring customer satisfaction, and overseeing daily tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and motivate the team during assigned shifts to ensure excellent customer service
Manage store operations when managers are not present, including opening and closing the store
Handle customer issues or complaints and resolve them promptly
Monitor inventory levels and assist in restocking products as needed
Supervise the health and care of live animals in the store
Ensure store cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety standards
Assist with training new associates and providing feedback on performance
Support sales and merchandising efforts to drive customer engagement
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; some college preferred
1-2 years of retail experience, preferably in a leadership role
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills
Excellent communication and team-building abilities
Knowledge of pet products and care
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Bather
Position Overview:
As a Bather at Paws and Claws Depot, you will be responsible for providing high-quality bathing and drying services to a variety of dog breeds. You’ll help pets feel their best while ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the grooming process.
Key Responsibilities:
Bathe dogs of all sizes, ensuring proper technique for each breed and coat type
Dry and brush dogs to remove tangles and prepare them for grooming
Assist the grooming team with other tasks, such as nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland expression
Ensure the grooming salon is clean, sanitary, and organized at all times
Monitor the behavior and well-being of the pets, alerting the groomer or manager to any concerns
Communicate with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and answer basic questions
Provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive grooming experience
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Experience working with animals preferred, but training is provided
Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments
Strong communication skills and a love for animals
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Willingness to learn grooming techniques and safety procedures
Groomer
Position Overview:
As a Groomer at Paws and Claws Depot, you will provide professional grooming services to a wide range of dog breeds. Your role is to ensure that each pet looks and feels their best while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform grooming services such as haircuts, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing
Provide consultations with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and needs
Ensure all grooming tools are sanitized and well-maintained
Handle pets safely and kindly, ensuring their comfort throughout the grooming process
Recognize signs of stress or health issues in animals and take appropriate actions
Maintain grooming records and provide follow-up recommendations to pet owners
Work with the store and grooming team to schedule appointments and manage workflow
Ensure the grooming salon meets cleanliness and safety standards at all times
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Certified grooming experience with a portfolio of past work
Strong knowledge of dog breeds, grooming styles, and techniques
Excellent communication skills and a passion for animal care
Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments
Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
