Hi! I'm "Switch", yep like a light switch. I'm looking for a great family to adopt me.

The week after Hurricane Helene I was left tied to the bench outside of Foothills Animal Clinic, so yeah they kinda had to take me in. Oh man!, they should have called me Helene, hahaha!

These pictures are not very flattering, they were taken the day I arrived. I need to get someone to take some new pictures of me.

Anyhow, I would love to be a part of a loving caring family. I'm a sweet girl, I've been spayed, so no babies are coming out of me. I'm only 14 months old, and I have all my "shots", and I have a clean bill of health.

I have plenty of energy to keep up with an active person or an entire family. Just PLEASE include me in your day-to-day activities.

FYI... I have seen a lot in my 4 months here at the clinic. Dogs and cats come and go daily. Most are just getting routine things done.

The memorable ones are the hit by cars, they call them HBC for short. HBC dogs and cats come in very broken physically and mentally.

I don't want to ever meet a "mean" car, they seem unpredictable. If you don't believe me ask "Lady" the Rottie, she's been healing for MONTHS after being HBC.

Lady cried a lot at first, she was very broken and couldn't walk. I overheard the people here say they found her family. She just had babies, but because she couldn't walk or have anymore babies they didn't want her anymore. GEEZ!

I guess Lady did have a lot to cry about those first few weeks. Sad for sure, but I promise it's true! You know what is CRAZY!? She's WALKING again, and she's happy, so soon she'll get a new home too.

I told you about Lady, because I've watched her suffer, so my dream home would include a nice fenced yard. I don't want to be a HBC or get lost or abandoned again.

I need a safe place to run and play, but I don't want to be just a yard dog. I would love to have my own bed and space inside the house OR my wildest dream is to sleep in my family's bed with them. I want to be a part of a person's whole life.

Sorry my message was so long, I've had lots of time to ponder life while staying at the clinic.

Well that's me, "Switch" signing off for now. "Switching off" for now. Hahaha. Seriously, GOODNIGHT!

Keep your dogs on your property! Roaming dogs are a threat to domestic and wildlife animals. This brave rooster defended his coop on his own property. The dog killed three of his hens, and he was injured. He survived the coop attack and he saved one sweet hen. therapy to help him heal.

Today a microscopic view... Demodex mange mites, they are due to a genetic defect and are NOT contagious.

Demodex mites are due to a genetic defect that allows this mite to flourish in the skin. Today simply killed with a single Bravecto chew that last 12 weeks. It kills adult demodex, "immature" demodex and eggs once they hatch.

Dogs and Bi***es with Demodex genetic defect should NOT be bred since it can continue the genetic defect in the breed. Spay/Neuter, do NOT breed.

Argos, the faithful dog of Odysseus, remains one of the most iconic symbols of loyalty in ancient literature.
Its story comes from Homer's Odyssey, an eighth-century BC epic poem that chronicles Odyssey's long and perilous journey as he attempts to return home after the Trojan War. After 20 years of absence filled with battles, shipwrecks and constant death threats, Odyssey finally returns to Ithaca, his homeland, but in disguise. No one recognizes him, not even his family or closest friends. But there is a soul that does.

Argos, his old dog, neglected and weak, lying on a pile of dirt, sees him from afar. Her ears stand up, her tail wags softly. Despite being too weak to stand, she finds the strength to recognize the only one she had waited for all those years.

This short but powerful scene appears in Corner 17 of The Odyssey and has remained as one of the most moving moments in all of literature. Argos, forgotten by all but still clinging to hope, finally sees his master once again. And with that small, quiet moment of joy, let go of life, dying in peace.

It is a testament to the eternal love of dogs: they never forget, never stop hoping, and never stop loving. Argos loyalty is timeless, reminding us that even in the earliest stories, the bond between humans and dogs already seemed sacred. For anyone who has ever loved a dog, this scene touches the heart deeply. It's not about greatness or heroism, it's about the quiet power of devotion.
