With only a couple rides in so far in the last 9 months I’m so happy with where Roy is at! Got on and is riding better then we ended last year 🤗 He turned 5 not long ago but the amount of rides and training he has had is closer to a coming 3 year old. Been so busy with work the last few years and with the weather not cooperating it’s been a struggle. I always have to remember to work with the horse where he is at in training and not just think of him as a 5 year old. #razingthebarperformancehorses #horsetraining #horsemanship #aqha #aqhaproud #horsereel
Was so happy with todays ride. Roy may have a few extra pounds from the winter but he didn’t miss a step. 🤗❤️ #razingthebarperformancehorses #horsetrainingreel #horses #horseriding #horsereel #aqha #AQHAproud
People are trying to do the thing with the fear, the brace and the worry. It’s not that the horse can’t do the thing. The things that we are trying to get from them are things they already know how to do.
Think about that. let’s think more about how to get rid of the fear, brace, and worry more then trying to get them to do the thing.
Day 4 working with this handsome young man ❤️ #horsetraining #aqha #horses #horsemanship
Rebel’s 2nd day of school. This young stallion amazes me with his willingness to look for answers. His focus compared to day one was incredible! #aqha #razingthebarperformancehorses #stallion #redroan #horsetraining #iqha #horsepower #horsemanship #groundwork #aqhaproud #frostythegoodbar #hotdamimfrosted
One of the differences between people with drive and passion versus people without is that the people with passion that have a day off get up even earlier to take advantage of the day to take more steps on achieving their goals, and dreams, while others just sleep in. #passion #drive #horsetrainer #makethemostofeveryday #fitcowgirl #motivation #horse #razingthebarperformancehorses #countrychicfitness #whatisyourpassion

I think he’s got this figured out 💁♀️
Working on some steering today. Also been working on more forward. So keeping his riding sessions short and moving more.
Ride number 5 today. When you prepare them right they can be very relaxed even on their first ride. I have not used anything to put his head down, a relaxed horse will naturally hold their head in a relaxed and balanced position. I’m just so excited to see what this colt can do!! Sorry ahead of time since I will be posting a lot with him ☺️
On a side note I’m pretty impressed that I can reach the stirrup on this big boy! I’m
5’2” he’s about 16.1 we’ll see if I can still do it when he’s done growing lol
So was going to video Roy’s first saddling and didn’t realize I had my phone set on time lapse 🤦♀️ well you can still see how it went I guess lol. I want to make the saddle a good thing right from the start so I would put the saddle on and do nothing but let him hang out and relax. When I take it off I make him do a little work then stop him and throw the saddle back on and just relax. Keep in mind Roy has been through a lot of ground work prior to prepare him for the saddle. I didn’t just grab him out and decide to put it on. I want his experience to be as low stress as possible for him and me.
Sammy yearling stud colt sired by Hot Dam I’m Frosted. He is figuring things out! 😍
