Happy 3rd Birthday to Southpaw Alumni Rory! He got so excited, he jumped on the table and brought the birthday cake to the floor to share with his fur siblings. If you know Rory’s story, you know he deserves only good days… and because of his awesome forever home, he is celebrated today and everyday. Happy happy birthday to you Rory!

Hello everyone. We are still trying to fundraise to help this little girl get the hernia surgery she so desperately needs. Surgery is set for Dec 2nd. Surgery cost is $2,500-$3,000 depending on how complicated it is when they go in to push her intestines back in place and stitch up the hole. Please help this little girl if you can. 🐾💛🐾

Boomer has found his most perfect home in Santa Barbara with a family who loves the boxer breed. Boomer has another boxer about the same age in the home. They are besties already! His human dad works from home, he lives near the beach, takes walks and plays and sunbaths in the yard. This is what we want for all our Southpaw Alumni!

Getting updates from Southpaw Alumni is my favorite thing in the world. Margaux was adopted over a year ago and is absolutely thriving in her forever home. I remember rescuing Margaux from Devore. She was rescue only for some reason I can’t remember. She was so adorable and perfect the moment she came into Southpaw and now she is in the most perfect home. 🐾🤗🐾

Thank you to those who donated today to help Gabby. We are heading to the vet tomorrow to see if we can fix her hernia (pictured here). This poor little sweet pug’s intestines and liver have gone through the hernia as you can see here. Gabby is blind and was found on the streets in this condition and taken to San Bernardino city shelter. Her personality is about as loving and funny as you can imagine. Donations to help with her vet bills are appreciated!

Good vibes only for Gabby as she goes to the vet tomorrow. The chunks of fur missing from her body have grown back beautifully and the daily eye drops she gets to keep her dry eyes from stinging have really helped. She’s thriving and her fun personality has come out in full force. Tomorrow we will visit our third vet to look at her hernia. Gabby’s entire intestines and liver are inside the hernia. We need to decide is surgery is even possible for this little girl. If surgery isn’t too big of a risk, it will be an expensive one. But little Gab Gab is worth it. Please consider helping her with a tax deductible donation.

TRex was pulled from the shelter yesterday and is already settling into his foster home. He is great with the other dogs and cats. TRex is 11 months old, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and ready for adoption. From death row to running around playing, welcome to Southpaw TRex!

You often hear in rescue “It takes a village”. And it’s true. Southpaw was established in 2019 and we are grateful for the support we got. Unfortunately, we were never able to establish a village of fosters. When a couple fosters backed out after dogs were pulled, they would end up at my house. If you know me at all, you know the last 6 months have been truly overwhelming. This week I’ve had to rush to Redlands emergency vet three times because of dogs fights. An hour ago, I lost Winter due to injuries she sustained. This is something I take full responsibility for. The loss of her has gutted me. I was responsible for her young life. She deserved more than what I was able to provide. Southpaw rescue is shutting down effect immediately. Please continue to support us as we pay off our vast veterinary costs and adopt out the dogs we currently have. Winter’s life mattered. Our country is overwhelmed with overpopulation of dogs. Please, spay/neuter your pets. Please adopt a shelter/rescue dog. Winter was one of the happiest dogs I’ve had in rescue. Despite only being 2 years old and being failed repeatedly, she found a best friend in my dog Drama, who is also now visibly missing her absence. I have disabled comments.
