I've been receiving commissions to paint a number of portraits this holiday season. Here are 3 I've delivered (plus I've promised to finish some others before Christmas). The painting are all done using acrylic paints on canvas board, using reference photos. The toddler portrait is an 11" x 14". I had to brighten her face to bring out details. The man with his dog sitting in the convertible was an 8" x 10". That one presented a challenge of giving depth to the shading of the car contours. Finally, the family portrait was 24" x 30", and demanded attention to the subtle differences in their complexions.

Here are some of the dogs I recently did (I can't post the others for fear of spoiling the surprise).

What's up with the cat lovers? I haven't done any of them recently.

Many of the custom paintings I've done are actually "memorial" paintings of loved ones who've passed.

Those will bring a tear to the eyes every year.
