Compassion in Action 🐿💙

When concerned residents noticed two squirrels left in a trap for two days without food or water—and with a storm rolling in—they knew they had to act. Multiple calls came in, and ACO Chris quickly responded with the help of the Barnegat Fire Department. Together, they were able to safely rescue both squirrels and release them back where they belong. 🌳✨

This is what true compassion looks like—neighbors looking out for wildlife, first responders stepping in, and a happy ending for two little lives.

Fergus has life all figured out—give him a toy to chew on and a belly rub, and he’s the happiest pup around! 🐾

At 6 years old, this sweet boy has mastered the art of being the perfect dog. Foster life proved he’s housebroken, a cuddle pro, and even a polite walking buddy. He loves snuggling in bed, carrying around his favorite toys, and could even share his home with another dog. Fergus is the total package: silly, sweet, and 100% certified good boy material. 💙

Before arriving at the shelter, Crinkles was trained in scent and bite work, and it shows—she thrives when her brain is busy and her body has a purpose. She isn’t just a companion; she’s a working partner waiting for the right match.

What she needs is a confident, experienced handler who understands her skills and will give her the structure she craves. In return, she’ll give unwavering devotion and the kind of bond that only a shepherd can offer.
