We here at The Grooming Shop have been closely monitoring the situation with the new canine virus that has been spreading across the U.S. We just saw that it has has been identified in Maryland. Many of you have expressed concerns, rightfully so. I have read as much as I could find on this virus and basically see that it is much like a human flu. It can have deadly effects in older dogs or dogs with underlying health issues, however not in healthy dogs. Antibiotics are ineffective however symptoms are generally not life threatening. That being said we have decided to sanitize all equipment after each dog leaves. This includes, tubs, tables, scissors, brushes, combs, clippers ,blades and any other piece of equipment that touches your dog. We are doing this in an effort to prevent the spread of the virus and keep all of our furry friends safe and healthy. We ask that if your dog is exhibiting any of the symptoms that you please reschedule your appointment. The symptoms include coughing, sneezing, difficulty breathing, lethargy, fever and eye discharge. Please contact your vet if your dog is exhibiting any of these symptoms. Please know the we at the Grooming Shop will always go above and beyond to keep every single pet safe while in our care.

The Grooming Shop is holding a pumpkin decorating contest. Each groomer had to get creative and decorate a pumpkin. We are asking our clients to vote for their favorite one. The groomer whose pumpkin has the most votes will win a $100 Amazon gift card. So make sure you vote when you come in for your appointment or just stop by and vote. Contest ends on October 31 and the winner will be revealed on Facebook.

If anyone is looking for a dog walker/pet sitter, look no further. I found a true gem. Her name is Debbie and she runs Lost Dog Search and Rescue. I asked my mom to do some research and check reviews to find the best possible match for my three fur babies and she came through in a big way. Debbie is reliable, trustworthy and genuinely loves my pups. Everyday I get a report card on my kitchen counter to inform me of what went on that day with all my dogs. If something doesn't seem quite right she will call or text. She spends quite a bit of time with them after their walk playing with them and loving on them. On Tuesday my American Bully went to the vet to receive her rabies and distemper vaccinations. That night she got very sick. She was vomiting and had severe diarrhea and was breathing heavy and peeing blood. I had to open the shop so I cleaned the mess and left. I called Deb and told her what was going on and asked if she could come twice that day to check on Maizy. There was no hesitation. She did. When she arrived at my home Maizy had gotten sick again all over the kitchen, living room and dining room. Deb called me, I called vet who wanted to see her immediately. She was having an adverse reaction to the vaccines. Deb once again didn't hesitate. She put Maizy in her vehicle and drove almost a half hour to my vet where fluids and medications were administered. Once Maizy was done she took her back home and then proceeded to clean up the entire mess, mop my floors and take out the garbage. Above and beyond!!!! She calls or texts me numerous times per day to check on her progress. She is one of a kind, with a heart of gold and a halo floating over her head. I will be forever grateful for the care she showed Maizy. ❤️ you can reach her at 609-276-4929

My dog walker came upon a 1 1/2 year old Jack Russell who needs a home. His owner is moving in with his girlfriend and she said no dog. Personally I say kick the girlfriend to the curb and keep the dog, but that is not what's happening. If anyone is I n terested please let me know so I can reach out to Debbie.

Oh my!!! Introducing Snoopy the 9 week ago cavapoo puppy. He was in for his first puppy groom and a much needed dremel. We look forward to many years of seeing this little man.
