Founded in 1979, Forney Animal Hospital
has provided veterinary services to the
Forney Community for over 30 years. Since
the partnership of Lucille Nix, DVM and
Jeffery Pruitt, DVM gained ownership in
2007, Forney Animal Hospital has strived for
excellence in the service of veterinary
medicine. Dr. Nix also stays active in the
Forney Community, allowing student
volunteers to observe the practice.

She is a
member of the Animal Shelter Community
and was happy to host the Pet Palooza in
2011. Dr. Nix is a member of the Chamber of
Commerce and supports the community
with property taxes. As the City of Forney
has grown and prospered, Forney Animal
Hospital has grown as well, allowing the
practice to accommodate patients in a more
timely manner. In July 2009, Forney Animal
Hospital held the grand opening of a stateof-
the-art 8,000 sq ft facility.

“The exchange of ownership and our new
facility has only helped us to continue to love
and care for our patients, as well strengthen
and build new relationships with our clients.”

Playtime is one of Cheeks' favorite activities. Whether it's a game of fetch, a romp in the yard, or a playful wrestling match with his favorite squeaky toy, Cheeks is always up for some fun. With heat waves sweeping across the country, blue-green algae is appearing in new areas and posing an increased risk to pets.

Found in lakes, ponds or any source of standing water, it’s extremely toxic and consuming it can be fatal. The best way to prevent accidental poisoning is to keep a close eye on pets when they’re around water.

If you think your pet has been exposed, take them to the nearest emergency veterinary hospital and contact the ASPCA Poison Control at 888-426-4435.
