A good Samaritan picked up a dog in Heartland and brought it to us. If anyone is missing a young chihuahua mix, please contact us and if you can provide proof of ownership we would love to reunite you with your baby!

🐭Let's talk about Leptospirosis🐰

Leptospirosis is a disease caused by infection with Leptospira bacteria. This can be found worldwide in soil and water.

There has been a confirmed case in Forney 😫

All dogs are at risk of Leptospirosis regardless of age, breed, lifestyle or time of year. It is commonly found in puddles, rivers, soil along yards or in parks. It is spread by wildlife such as rabbits, mice and rats that contaminate the soil and water your dog may play in or drink from. Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease that can spread to humans if it contact with an infected animal. Recently, the American Animal Hospital Association has changed the leptospirosis vaccine from a lifestyle vaccine to a core vaccine. This means that it is recommended for ALL dogs aged 12 weeks and older.

Toby is a high energy 1 year old spayed female who is looking for a forever home. All her vaccinations are up to date and she is FIV/FeLV negative. She needs a patient home willing to help her work through overstimulation. She has recently started anxiety medications to help her.
