It's been quite a day! 🥰 Mabel went into labor this morning, and we just delivered her last puppy! She stalled for about 6 hours after the first, and it was nice to be able to check the next puppy and confirm it was still alive and sac intact. Since Mabel is much more willing to lie still than the goats are I took the opportunity to work with the ultrasound machine between delivering puppies. We could see different parts, puppy positions, watch heart rates, etc. The last puppy's heart rate was really slow, so it was nice to have a heads up knowing he could be weak and needed an extra hand.

Towards the end, we checked to see whether there was another puppy or not, and finally, to confirm all the puppies were delivered. I didn't intend to use the machine for this, but it was a game changer! If you are looking into one, I recommend Raina Gover (Wine Valley Farm).

Here is a video (it's better in person lol!) Don't mind the goats screaming, the does are in heat.
and I keep the camera monitor in the kitchen 😂
