We emptied all of our poultry pens today at the Green Hill Farm Fest and enjoyed visiting with everyone who stopped by!

We weren't supposed to bring home anything 😂 but...... we were all excited to pick up some new additions! Josh bought a Trio of Blue Slate Turkeys, Lily bought an Emu (now named 'Boomer), Rosalie was generously gifted a pair of call ducks and is already in love with her 'Butterfly DuckDuck', Mason and I picked up another pair of Sebastopols, and we bought 2 adorable Kunekune gilts.

Unfortunately while we were getting ready to leave the little orange and black gilt hightailed it to a huge field. Thank you soooo much to everyone who helped, posted on fb groups, and the family who caught her and brought her back up to us!!! We are very greatful!

Their wellness check at the Vet's Office is Thursday, and then they will be ready to leave! Vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, registration application, go home bag, etc.

We had an amazing day at the Buck Wild Show today in Cookeville. Grandeur, yearling Nubian Buck, was named Senior Grand Champion and Best of Breed in all 4 shows😮! We had a great end to our 2024 show season at The Great Frederick Fair! We forgot about pictures until we were leaving, so the lighting wasn't the best.

This doe kid is soooo sweet! 🥹 She is still looking for a new barn! 🥰

It's been quite a day! 🥰 Mabel went into labor this morning, and we just delivered her last puppy! She stalled for about 6 hours after the first, and it was nice to be able to check the next puppy and confirm it was still alive and sac intact. Since Mabel is much more willing to lie still than the goats are I took the opportunity to work with the ultrasound machine between delivering puppies. We could see different parts, puppy positions, watch heart rates, etc. The last puppy's heart rate was really slow, so it was nice to have a heads up knowing he could be weak and needed an extra hand. Towards the end, we checked to see whether there was another puppy or not, and finally, to confirm all the puppies were delivered. I didn't intend to use the machine for this, but it was a game changer! If you are looking into one, I recommend Raina Gover (Wine Valley Farm). Here is a video (it's better in person lol!) Don't mind the goats screaming, the does are in heat. and I keep the camera monitor in the kitchen 😂

The juniors love their free time out on pasture in the evenings! 🥰 Our selection of Nubian doe kids is pretty small this year! These 6 girls will most likely be sticking around until summer/fall or at least until show season is underway. 1 Senior Doe Kid 5 Intermediate Doe Kids (Plus Lily's black Junior Lamancha doe kid and the Junior Nubian Buck Kid, they were all out since they are penned together) Introductions to come (adding clipping & photos to my to do list!)

Apparently they don't understand the meaning of 'Single File' 🤡

We blow any debris out of the goat's coats now and then so they can fluff their coats better and stay warmer. Princess Ponie is always the first and last in line. 😂 She isn't tied, she just loves getting blowouts!

Well...... I tried 😂

Molly takes her job of 'watch the gate' seriously, and these Nigerians know exactly which buttons to push 😂 After she bows and they come back up the 2nd time you can see her think for a second, "Oh crap! The goats, the gate, the goats, the GATE! 😂" She has an incredible off-switch and naturally mirrors energy levels. She is instantly ready to do chores or perfectly content to lay at my feet on my off days. She listens to our conversations during chore time and is quick to pickup on what we are needing without us asking. I am so happy with how she is progressing! 🥰
