Pug Partners of Nebraska What is Pug Partners of Nebraska? Pug Partners of Nebraska is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and re-homing purebred pugs

Mission
Pug Partners of Nebraska is a 501c3, non-profit organization comprised of dedicated volunteers who are committed to rescuing and re-homing pugs in need. We believe that all pugs deserve a chance to be loved and to love a human companion. A majority of our rescue pugs come from what is called a puppy mill (a mass breeding facility), we are very dedicated to these special dogs and providing

them with the life they deserve. Our main purpose is to provide all of our rescue pugs with a loving foster home, quality dog food, medical care, and any other need that they may have while in our care. Our ultimate goal is to place each pug into a forever family that will continue to show the pug love, attention, and provide the care that they each deserve. We strive to educate our adopters and the public about our wonderful pug breed. Although pugs are quite different from most breeds, we want to show people how amazing these small dogs can be, and how they are great companions. Vision Statement

Pug Partners of Nebraska provides a service to the community for pugs in need, by rescuing purebred pugs that are in shelters, puppy mills, whose owners can no longer care for them, and for those who have become lost/abandoned and to place them in a loving and safe permanent home where they will be loved and cared for as companion pets. Nearly everyone makes the first mistake, it's hard not to! But how you act towards an unfamiliar dog — and its owner — goes a long way towards the new dog feeling you're 'safe' and he can trust you and will help ensure positive meetups in the future.

Name: Dottie
Age: 1 yr
S*x: Female
Previous Life: Owner Surrender
Weight: 16 lbs
Altered: Yes
Housebroken: Working on it
Good with dogs/cats/kids: Small dogs only please (please see dislikes)/Yes/Yes (older kids only)
Likes: Squeaky toys, chew toys, anything she can play fetch with. All treats, lick mat, squeaky balls, bones
Dislikes: Big dog's due to being attacked in the past. She is ok with small submissive dogs. She tends to have a alpha personality and would do best as an only dog or only with a very laid-back dog of her size.
Crate trained: Yes
Fenced yard required: No but she loves zoomies and does love to run.
Special Needs/Notes: One of her eyes was removed due to an attack in her previous home

Dottie turned a year old in February. She was an owner surrender. She is very sweet and loving and gets very attached to her people. She is very active and loves to play. She would do amazing for someone to enroll her in agility training. She loves praise and responds to training.

Dottie is a loveable goofball that will keep you on your toes!
A playful puppy with a kind heart, Dottie is easy to love, and once you earn her love you'll always have a friend near by for cuddles-or an eager game of fetch!

Dottie turned a year old in February and still is VERY much a puppy! She is eager to please and does best with positive reinforcement and redirection when puppy energy gets the best of her.
Dottie has done well with pug friends and other small dogs, but is fearful of large dogs due being injured by a large dog in her previous home.
Dottie has more of an alpha personality and would excel the most being an only dog, or would also do well with a dog that has very laid back personality/similar play style.

In times where Dottie has been overly playful with her alpha pug foster sibling, her foster family has had no trouble calming things down with a firm reminder of manners (a quick loud noice for redirection) or a chew given for a chance for all to settle down.
Dottie may be far more active than your typical pug, but the pug food lover in her rings true and as such she can be quick to try and get second helpings of food/treats from other dogs- Dottie will need to be fed separately to be sure one portion of food is all she gets-and there are no battles for the last bite!

Did I mention Dottie loves fetch?? Because this girl LOVES fetch and will ask you to play again and again!! Dottie has a favorite squeaky ball she loves to play fetch with most, but is happy with all toys and enjoys both playing and cuddling them! Dottie will bring them outside, on the couch, and to bed at night too.. she lights up with joy when you're ready to play just as much as she is!! Perfect way to get that puppy energy out!
Dottie has been doing really well going on walks, and enjoys her nightly neighborhood watch patrol around the block, even with one eye she's always on the lookout!

Dottie is timid of people she doesn’t know but she warms up quickly when she knows she is safe and loved, a treat or two helps and an instant bff you'll be if you throw her a squeaky ball! The love she gives when she trusts can't be beat, she is a perfect cuddler and loves being near on the couch or when it's time for bed!

Name: Stella
Age: 9 yrs
S*x: Female
Previous Life: Owner Surrender
Weight: 25 lbs
Altered: Yes.
Good with dogs/cats/kids: Yes/Unknown/Unknown
Likes: Loves to eat, loves her treats and sleeping next to her foster Mom
Dislikes: She doesn’t like to be left alone
Crate trained: Unknown
Fenced yard required: Yes
Special Needs/Notes: Needs eye drops 3x daily and eye lubricant. She needs special attention to her bottom which has been itchy and inflamed but is improved after treatment. will require attention to that area for the rest of her life. At times she does seem sore
when walking and is getting a joint supplement daily.

Stella is very sweet, and we fell in love with her from the very beginning. She definitely needs a home where she can sit and sleep with you. she loves going outside and enjoying the sunshine. Because she can only see close up it’s important that you let her know where you are or she starts crying. When you leave the house, let her see you leave.
