K9HY customizes training packages for each client. Every client’s needs, goals, lifestyles and abilities are different. K9HY offers a Free In Home Evaluation where we learn more about you, your pup and discuss which training option is best for you and your pooch. K9HY training occurs in a home style setting, unlike many other training facilities. This allows for your pup to be trained in a realistic environment that mimics your home and makes for an easier transition. K9HY understands that your dog is an extension of your family and we want you to live harmoniously together. Training your pooch builds a bond between you, your family and pup and allows you to successfully communicate with one another.
Why is training your dog so important?
Just like kids in school, dogs need their brain stimulated. Mentally stimulating your pup wears out a high-energy dog. It occupies a hyper anxious pup. Manages a grumpy older dog that doesn’t get along with others. Physical activity is important to your dog’s health; however, mental stimulation is just as critical.
Below is a list of common problems owners encounter. Do you face any of these? More importantly, do you know how to manage or train through them? If not, that’s okay! Most people don’t and find themselves getting frustrated. K9HY encourages you to educate yourself and train your pup to strengthen your bond-not weaken it through frustrations.

What specific services do you provide?
Private Lessons begin in your home to build a foundation and ensure understanding. Depending on each owner’s goal, we then venture elsewhere, such as parks, dog friendly restaurants or stores and train with distractions. K9HY gives you the tools and knowledge needed to continue the training on your own when training opportunities present themselves. In short, you become a dog trainer too!
Board and Train is typically the fastest way to train your dog. Depending on your goals, dogs board for 1-2 weeks (some dogs take longer, every dog is different) in a home setting where they experience training in a realistic home environment. Potty breaks, exercise, play time, walks, nap time and dog socialization (if desired) are included. K9HY gives Pupdates and sends pictures to make sure you feel comfortable leaving your pup for a period of time. Private lessons are included and K9HY relays all training information to you to make sure you understand the training and can continue it when your dog returns home with you.
Board and Home often makes new dog owners feel more at ease. Owners drop off their dog for 4-5 days to board (receiving all the same amenities and care mentioned above) and pick them up to bring home for 2-3 days. They will receive homework and training to work on while their dog is back with them. They then bring back their dog, with any questions they encountered, and this continues for 2-3 more weeks.
Day Train allows clients to drop off their dog for a set amount of time and pick them up the same day. Your dog will receive training, in addition to play and potty breaks. The amount of training time and drop-off/pick-up times are customized to each client’s schedule and goals. Lessons are included throughout the training package and homework is offered to help owners practice and continue their dog’s training at home.
Boarding your dog while you’re away can be difficult when you miss them, want to ensure they are safe, have their favorite toy, and are loved. K9HY offers frequent contact with Pupdate texts or calls, pictures and videos. The home setting in which they board makes for an easier transition than concrete kennel runs with 20 dogs constantly barking. Even if your dog has not trained with K9HY they are welcome to board. Previous K9HY clients, however, prefer leaving their pup with us as they see it is a comfortable transition for their pooch or for some refresher training while they are away.
Ever wish your dog could help others? K9HY offers the training needed to have your dog pass Therapy Dog tests, such as the TDI (Therapy Dog International). CGC (Canine Good Citizen) training is also offered, often required for dogs in apartment complexes or renting properties.
