Who doesn’t love potatoes? Boil ‘em, mash ‘em, put ‘em in a stew… just don’t swallow them whole like poor Gus here who had to have a gastronomy this weekend to remove this one which caused a blockage. We are happy to report that Gus is home and doing well, and to be honest, we’re impressed with this little guy. Thanks for trusting us with his care!

If four leaf clovers are a sign of good luck, surely four healthy babies brought into the world with a St. Patrick’s Day surgery are the luckiest pups in the world! Delilah is a super sweet frenchie who couldn’t have her babies naturally because they were just too dang big. Dr. Marchewitz and our team sprung into action and worked together to deliver through c-section and resuscitate them and then reunite mama with her babies. All five are doing well, and her family is celebrating the holiday a little differently this year! We wish this adorable family the happiest lives filled with luck and love!

Abigail is a 10 month old domestic shorthair who was in for her postop recheck today. She kindly offered to help Dr. Marchewitz write her records and made sure the descriptors “very good girl” and “exceeding all expectations” were appropriately emphasized.

International Women’s Day lands a little different in an industry that is full of brilliant women. In our hospital women, along side their male counterparts, fill every essential role: CSRs, assistants, technicians, doctors and managers. We have a team of women who are not only brilliant, they’re compassionate, eager to serve, and always up for any adventure, and who take opportunity to laugh together. We celebrate women in vet med, and our whole team, every day, but today we recognize who runs this world.

Yesterday we had the honor of hosting Animal Emergency Medical Training for an all day RECOVER training course to ensure that our team is up to date on the latest and most effective methods of ALS/BLS CPR. As an emergency hospital, we have to be ready for anything that is carried through our doors, and our team is constantly adding to their credentialing and doing continuing education to make sure they are able to help every patient we see.

Tonight our team celebrated all of our hard work in 2024 together. Because we are open 24/7/365, we always wait until January to throw our winter holiday party, and this time we did so by throwing back local brews and axes at . We’ll share some of our photo booth photos this weekend, but wanted to thank this amazing local venue for hosting us.

Every year we use photos from the previous year's holiday party for our hospital holiday card, and it is our pleasure to share it with you all here. Earlier this week, 7 month of Yorkie Fizzle came into us showing signs of an obstruction. Our team was able to determine that he ate something he shouldn't have, a marble, and were fortunately able to remove it with endoscope. When you're a tiny puppy, even the smallest thing can cause a big problem. We're happy to report he is home with his family and doing well. Check out our stories for a fun video of the pass that ALMOST got it out (before the pass that actually did).

Matching smiles for post treatment snuggles. One of our amazing techs, Kelsey, made sure that Banksy got all of the attention he wanted... after she helped him vomit up the trash he got into. Banksy was the perfect patient, and we are crossing our fingers that's enough to keep him off the naughty list this year.

For the next few meet our team Tuesdays, we're going to do something a little different. We recently had a photographer come in to get updated headshots for our team, with their pets if they chose. They are all so amazing, we figured we'd share a few with you all. When we talk to our team about why they choose to do this work, the first thing almost all of them say is "because I love the animals". These headshots capture their love of their own pets, and we hope they give you a bit of insight into a driving force for our team.
