We asked our customers how they prepare a paw prior to making a print? And just like every claypaw impression, each response was different!
🐾 some do not prep the paw at all.
🐾 some do a quick wipe of the paw to clean off any dirt or extra fur.
🐾some clean, trim fur around paw pad and trim nails if they are extra long.
Each response had the same thing in common - a goal to create the most perfect print for their clients. Knowing each print can be held, touched, and carried. Because no matter how the print is made, the love it captures is forever.

Veterinary medicine is an intellectually, emotionally, and physically demanding profession. Veterinary staff solve numerous medical problems, provide medical treatment and emotional guidance to clients dealing with the emotional toll of caring for their pets. This we hope to bring awareness to the importance of self care for veterinary staff. Because we live in a society that often rewards us for "overwork and dedication" this practice can be difficult. If you make a commitment to creating a bond centered practice, it is essential that you commit to caring for yourself. You are the most important person in your world. One of the most common reasons we hear for a practice not to create a paw print impression is the time it takes. We are firm believers that time is precious and limited. We are also firm believers that creating a lasting keepsake is worth the time for both you as well as your clients. We would love to hear your time saving tips to help honor the bond between your client, their best friend and you.

Today's tip - assemble a client care kit for your practice. Thoughtfully choosing items that will help you walk into those appointments that require a little extra care and compassion arms you with the tools needed to ease the complex emotions attached to these appointments. The items in our first slide are all items your client can hold during the appointment to help ground them in the moment and help soothe them.

Time Saving Tip of the week - warm slightly before kneading. The heat from your body will slightly warm the clay and create flexibility prior to kneading the clay. While the clay is still in its plastic bag, sit on the patty. Place it in your pocket.
DO NOT microwave the clay. Or place it in a warm oven.
