Hello everyone. Let me introduce Prairie. As many of you know we sponsor a few dogs a year that need a new home for one reason or another.
This precious and sensitive princess is looking for her castle❤️🐕. She is less than two years old, she had recently been spayed, chipped and had her vaccines updated. She is heartworm negative and is now on heartworm prevention. Her name is Prairie. She is sensitive and curious and walks like a gentle lady on a leash and is learning each day to off leash recall but of course she is a hound and she does have a keen curiosity for the chase so we are careful to keep her on a long line for training sessions. She is happy with some time in a kennel and loves her meals. She has not been alone much so she is happiest in her kennel with a full belly and a long walk beforehand but she is learning a routine here with us. We are asking for a rehoming contribution and can include that in further information. Please text to 970-482-1103 to learn more about this pup. She is a couch queen but is friendly and easy to get along with on leash. Her adopters will need to be available for a session of training with her at our facility as we really want her to succeed. There is a movie coming out on Feb 18 called "Dog". It stars Channing Tatum and a highly trained Belgian Malinois. It's a road trip/buddy movie.

People are going to see this film and many will want their own Belgian Malinois. This is not going to end well for this breed.

A highly trained Malinois is a work of art. So is Michelangelo's statue of David but I don't necessarily want it in my living room.

This breed can be amazing in the right hands but they require a lot of everything. If you are considering getting a Malinois, please, first go meet some Malinois of all ages at your local rescue.

Be honest with yourself about the amount of time that you have to dedicate to training one of these dogs. Not the person that you want to be but the person that you are right now. Sitting on your ass and reading this post.

If you are still determined to get one. You can stem the inevitable tidal wave of Malinois that will be surrendered to the shelters by sourcing your dog in one of 3 places:

Your local shelter
A local Malinois rescue
A real, ethical breeder (researching one is hard work but an ethical breeder will prove their dogs and require that you return the dog to them if you can't keep it)

DO NOT get a Malinois from the guy down the street. Don't help backyard breeders line their pockets. Pure bred doesn't equal good breeding.

If you see the popularity of these dogs sky rocket and think you can make a quick buck by breeding some. May all of your financial ventures fail one after another.

🥰 What a Darling!! Please share for Issac!

Issac is looking for his forever home, this adorable pup is just around four months old, he is a GORGEOUS brown eyed terrier mix who will be at least 40-50 lbs when grown.

Issac is a total love and insists on being in every photo ever taken. He will just wag his entire body in happiness everywhere he goes. This is one adorable, calm and well mannered puppy right here!

He adores other dogs and will do very well off leash. He has had the happy fun of farm life with his wonderful foster family, but he sure is growing fast.

Issac was an owner surrender off of a local reservation to us here at Denkai and we can tell you, he is a very special fella!

Meet Mikey....

This amazing little guy was a transfer from another rescue. He is very playful for a 4 year old.
Mikey loves to run and play all day, then rest in your lap. Lots of a toys is a must.

Mikey is scheduled for his neuter and up to date on vaccines.

Mikey is currently located in Cortez CO.
