The Four Winds

The Four Winds Located just north of CSU, we offer lessons, training, boarding and host horseshows. Four Winds has been family owned and operated for almost 50 years.

Our equestrian center offers horse boarding, riding lessons, horse training and sales, and equine events. As a family business, collaboration is important in all that we do. The Four Winds training program has a traditional philosophy, focusing on flatwork while still staying true to the American Forward Riding! We accept anywhere from walk-trotters (5 and up) to Grand Prix riders and offer school

and lease horses. Our barn competes locally on the CHJA Circuit, as well as at several USHJA shows a year, with several opportunities to show on sight. We host four CHJA Shows per year, and a schooling show once a month during the summer season.

The Four Winds has rare openings for boarders; we’re looking to expand our community!

What sets us apart:
- A vibrant group of like-minded horsemen of all ages (teens, young adults and college students, professionals, parents).
- Knowledgeable instructors with decades of experience

What the facility offers:
- Stalls, paddocks, and limited pasture boarding
- Optional full care service, including turnouts, blanketing, and Vitafloor
- 3 feedings of grass or alfalfa a day, without flake limitations
- 3 feedings of grain a day, owner-provided or barn-supplied
- An indoor arena and 3 outdoors that are regularly maintained
- A recently renovated washrack with crossties
- Show-quality equipment
- Individual lockers for tack storage and trailer parking

He owns and operates Chestnut Hill Farm in Ocala, FL with his wife Kathy and his clinics are known for their perfect mix of humor, technical insight, and a supportive learning atmosphere.

Our Story

Located 3 miles north of the CSU campus, Four Winds has been family owned and operated for 30+ years. Our Equestrian Facility services the northern Colorado region, offering horse boarding, horse sales, horse training and riding lessons. Our barn competes locally on the CHJA Circuit, as well as at several "A"+ rated shows a year. We host three CHJA Shows per year at our facility, and a schooling show once a month. Our training program has a classical foundation, believing that the art is in the details. We strive to instill an understanding of the mechanics of horseback riding and promote horsemanship along the way. We accept anywhere from walk-trotters (8 and up) to Grand Prix riders. Barn hours are 7 days a week, from 8am to 8pm. Lesson hours are Tuesday through Sunday and vary.
