It is with a very heavy heart I write this.

Bronco worked with me Tuesday morning, January 25th, paying it forward helping dogs and their owners. We then did a mid-day playgroup together. That afternoon he had an acute medical emergency and passed away a few hours later.

I was with him the whole time. He had medical relief and a smooth passing. My heart is broken. He will be intensely missed. He gave everything he had to me, and I gave the same in return. I will be forever grateful to him.

I want to thank you all for allowing me to share his gifts with you and your dogs. His life was filled with meaning and purpose that he adored. He helped an immeasurable number of dogs in his almost 15 years!

I will miss you, my sweet boy, until we see each other again.
I will love you always.

Just Do It, July!

Use this month as a way to learn new things, practice old, and grow as a team. Everything is a training opportunity, just depends on how you look at it! The most important thing is that you enjoy the time working with your dog!

Make sure to exercise the brain as well as the body! You need mental exercise just as much as physical!

These can be done in any order! This is a template to keep you and your dog accountable! You can do all of it, some of it, or use it to spark your own ideas. Get out, spend time with your dog, and keep both ends of the leash accountable!

How are you spending your weekend?

Behavior 103 students expanding their skills!
Moxie, Ryker, Willie, Fresca, and Max are showing off just how far they’ve come! Some of them were very dog reactive, some were very nervous of people, some were even both. Not only are they able to share space with each other, they can be in drive to get to their moms while sharing intimate space. That is a huge accomplishment for any dog, never mind dogs who started where these ones did!
They also showed how much trust they have in their relationships to take on the playground and expand on their confidence!
These dogs did not get to where they are now by accident. They got there with tons of hard work put in at classes, but most importantly, the hard work their parents put in everyday with their dogs! Life is a training opportunity and these teams take advantage of that!
A huge congratulations to these teams! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Rufus, Titan, Leroy, and Otis made sure to get their exercise in early on this hot day!
They worked on their recalls, stays, tricks, and real world agility which consisted of bleachers and a wall!
It is always important to make sure your dog is getting the right mental exercise as well as physical, especially on these hot days!
How are you working your dogs today?

Look at handsome Sammy being such a good boy!
While these photos might not look like much more than a handsome boy, this is an example of what leadership, communication, boundaries, trust, relaxation, and fun can get you! Sammy and his family have put in a lot of time and effort to get here with this 10 month old boy.
No matter where you’re starting from, you can get to your goal! We are here to help you with any and every goal you have!
Have some amazing photos and successes you want to share with us? Email us at [email protected] to be featured! We love to celebrate your successes with you, no matter how small!

Little man, Wyatt, showing off his moving down!
At six months old this boy is showing off! Though he is a smart cookie, this is a direct result of communication that makes sense to a dog. Lisa makes sure to challenge him every day and build on their solid foundation, all while enjoying their time together! The sky is the limit for this team!

Happy Fourth of July everyone! 🇺🇸
While you are enjoying your festivities, please remember that not everyone likes fireworks. It is your job to make sure your dog can find calmness and comfort with you during this time. Keep them close, be quiet, calm, and make a den.
If you have any questions on how best to help your dog, please send us a message! We are here to help make sure everyone enjoys today!

Behavior 102 students kicking some serious butt! Fresca, Maggie, Charlie, Mina and Sunny are showing you what you can achieve with the right leadership and communication no matter where you are starting from!
Look at all of those loose leashes outside with dogs, cars and motorcycles as well as inside weaving through cones while balancing a tennis ball and navigating through traffic!
Way to go everyone!

We love testing our teams in the real world! Believe it or not, these are Behavior 103 students! That’s right, behavior! All of these dogs either were not the biggest fans of other dogs or people, some even both! Now look at them all together! Even with off leash dogs, screaming kids, and remote controlled planes, they kicked butt!
If you think your dog can’t be helped you are wrong! This is proof that anything is possible with the right leadership and communication!

Today one of our Puppy 3 classes put their hard work to the test! Jemima, Rufus, Otis and Diesel showed off their loose leash skills, stays, and recalls all while the lawn was being mowed, other dogs were off leash, and kids played soccer! Way to go you guys!
It is so important to utilize the skills we teach you whenever you are with your dog. It is not just once an hour once a week. It becomes a lifestyle you live rather than “tricks” you teach.

06/22/2020

Wyatt shows off his down at a distance! 60ish feet away and with a huge bird as distraction and he aces it! What a good boy!
Teaching your dog to listen to you at more than a six foot radius is so important. This is how you work towards having a dog reliably off leash! The rules do not only apply when they are within six feet of you.
Want a long line of your very own to start practicing on? We have you covered! Our long lines are biothane which makes them lightweight and easy to clean! They also come in so many amazing colors!
Our biothane come in 6ft, 10ft, 15ft, 30ft and 50ft! Reach out to Jordan at [email protected] to get one of your very own! We can also special order any length you want!

Soon he’ll be jumping off the diving board like his big bro!

Inspired Training & More with Lisa Rockland

As a culmination of over 50 years of both professional and life experience in Canine Behaviorism and training, Lisa has developed a unique way of working with dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and temperaments. We call this The Lisa Rockland Method. Our training techniques and foundation classes have been designed to start young puppies off on the right paw, guide adolescent dogs as they grow to be well-behaved family members, and teach adult and even senior dogs how to be exemplary canine citizens. We don’t believe in “one size fits all” training; there is no technique or piece of equipment that will work on every dog or for every person. We treat each end of the leash as individuals and as a team.
