Super windy! (Of course, it was nearly 60° in March in Colorado)
Huge classes (the 19 & over had 20 riders!), completed 3 of 5 classes before we all agreed it was time to call it a day at 4:30. Quite proud of the horses for being Amazing during the weather, wind rattling through the arena doors, the LONG wait between classes, the huge crowd. Our riders did Awesome! 👏 So many accomplishments on so many levels. Fun day back at CSU💚💛Great start to the show season!

Dino was Vanessa's favorite horse that she trained with in college with the IHSA equestrian team at CSU. Fell in love on the first ride! After graduation, Dino joined our herd, he was the first schooling horse for Lucky Star Equine in our training program here in Colorado.
"Longshot Pete" was our first rescue. Janice rescued him back home, in Florida, born and raised, always the racehorse! The coolest one-eyed Thoroughbred, with the biggest heart!
Pete is the namesake of our 501c3 non-profit for our rescued and retired horses, Lucky Star's Longshots. Pete joined our herd in Heaven Feb 15, 2024, due to a very unexpected seizure, just a month shy of his 32nd birthday.
We do love celebrating our horses, past & present! Thankful for them all!❤️

Beautiful 70°weather in March, in Colorado!! Made for a great day for a fun St. Patty's Day themed barn show today🌞🍀🐴
10 LSE riders participated. Ages 10-43, of all levels, including a few first timers!
Casual barn show for all our weekly riders and show team
riders. They brought their family & friends for a huge cheering section!🎉
Thank you to our friends, Pam Newman McCarty , Rachel Kelshaw Murphy & our riders, Aspen, Lilly & Taylor for helping as ring stewards.
Janice Volker kept the cheering section going and was the MC for the show. Educating the audience on the classes and patterns. To top off the show day, she made Delicious themed treats for all! 💚
Fun day with the best people and most incredible horses!! 💚

Gwen and her 5yr old rescue horse, Faith. I know I've said this a million times, but in case anyone missed it...she learned to train her (and the other two of the "3 Amigos" Lucky Day & Dusty Bottoms) from the ground up! 5 months old, never handled, to 5 years old, with great success in the show ring! 💜💜💜 So Very Proud of Gwen & Faith! 👏👍

Super fun show team dinner & team fun ride tonight, in celebration of our seniors Gianna & Mira headed off to college within the next week. (And missing Alex who already is there!) We miss you all already! So excited for this next chapter in your life, also can't wait for you all to come home for the holidays! More pics to come but had to highlight Gianna & Wyatt's bareback spins! Her 1st time riding him bareback, and this weekend will be her 1st ever show on him & her last show before she leaves for college😪 💙BlueEyedAngel🥰 Deaf but, don't tell him, he couldn't hear it anyway!🤭

Show day today! More pics to come but had to share this! Baker's Dozen is back in the show pen after many years off rehabbing from one of his countless self inflicted injuries. He's truly earned his nickname "Trouble Maker Baker" in his 18 years of shenanigans. 🙃 I've raised and trained Baker since he was a year old, showed him sporadically over the years. I think it's been atleast 6 years since we last showed. Today, for the first time ever, Gwen showed Baker in the Ranch classes at the All Around Show. I couldn't be more proud of her! 👏 She rides him beautifully and smiles the whole time! Well done Gwen!... Yes, I cried😂 all the hard work, rehab, vet bills, stress and endless love...100% worth it!
