Look at Clark 😍

Clark is desperate to be someone’s goodest boi farm dog! He’s afraid of other dogs and other dogs don’t understand what they did wrong to him when he’s telling them to get away. 😞 He’s extra super sweet though and loves humans a whole lot! How do we know he’s a farm dog? Well he takes absolutely everything we put in his kennel to make him comfy through the dog door and piles it outside and then hangs out out there. When we give the dogs things to chew on he takes his right out the door and likes to lay out there and chomp on it. He only comes in to eat, drink and say hey when we’re in the building otherwise he’s right back out the door! He would be great for older people or people who could be unsteady on their feet as he isn’t a jumper. He just follows like a trusted companion who is there to give moral support when you’re working on your tractor or messing around in the shop. He’d be a fantastic shop dog too. He doesn’t get in the way. He just hangs near by waiting for his turn for attention and he will tell the predators to take a hike while he’s at it! Yahri is looking for a Shepherd home!! She is sssuuucccchh a sweet girl!! Kennel life is really hard on her if you know Shepherds you know they don't do well in rescue/shelters. They are so smart and they want their people. Yahri wants a job to do she wants a family to love her and work her!! Mentally and physically. Can you help her?? She can get along with other dogs and we've had her on leash by cats but she has a high preydrive. It would be best for her to be the only pet to start and help her settle and acclimate to her new life first.

Until her family comes for her we are looking for 4 ppl to volunteer 1day a week, getting her out to the park and walking and maybe taking trips to visit our friends at Pet Supplies Plus - Fort Dodge, IA!!!

Oh mama P 😍

Precious (aka Mama, Uni, Miss Universe, bestest girl) was found emaciated in a kennel almost a whole year ago. She was just skin and bones and her skin was painful even for us to look at. We soon found out she was pregnant but only 2 out of the 4 babies survived. We weren’t sure what her future held for her because the home she came from wasn’t a good one for dogs to grow up in even for the ones just stuck in a kennel constantly. She still doesn’t want other dogs near her food, but she can be with other dogs her own size or bigger as long as they have some manners and don’t pick at her constantly. She can not, under any circumstances, be around cats or small dogs. She has a very high prey drive which is completely normal in some breeds of dogs. They’re animals after all just doing what genetics tell them to. She LOVES people, and she’s won the best snuggler award 12 months straight in the shelter! She’s lazy so doesn’t require much exercise. She’s always ready to come in after about 20 mins in the yard. She has no fear of the kennel anymore as we kennel train all of the dogs that come in to make our lives much easier and to hopefully help their new families have a jumpstart on it if they choose to kennel. She likes to lay in her kennel and watch us do chores while chewing on whatever awesome dog chews you guys donate and happily wag her tail! We’ve never had a dog this long, but we’re not mad about it. She’s learned so much in the time we’ve had her, and she’s been a joy to have around!
