Brody heading out to meet the judge with his hog during the fair yesterday. They did great and will be in the auction ring on Sunday morning
Sometimes you don't really WANT to fix the hole in the hose...
The son challenging the father.
After shearing, rams don't always recognize each other or remember their status.
On the plus side, Artesson gained at least 2 inches of horn curl since the last throwdown in December, so these two can at least collide without their horns spiraling and locking together. Glad to be past that!
We put all six rams in a "ram cram" after this shearing for 4 days. I tried 3 days and they hadn't learned, so I had to push them right back in for another day. I'd like to send Artesson off, now that I got my next breeding ram out of him, and then this father-son dynamic won't be an issue on our farm anymore. He's an exceptional ram and I should have shown him. I'd love for him to contribute to someone's flock this fall. Please message me if you are interested. His mother was shown and won grand champion at OFFF as a yearling, I believe.
Bravo Zulu to these two rams. I took too long to feed today, so they broke out of their pen. 😂
Way to take initiative.
I'm loving this for you. 😜
Basajaun and Augustus, the farm heroes. I love you guys. 🐶❤️🐶❤️
Don't be afraid to think outside the box on your livestock guardians. I have two different breeds to do two different jobs. So far, so good. They are shaping their roles as the pup matures.
Watch for more about what they do here in the coming weeks. 👩🏻🌾🐏
