We hope you and your families, including the furry and feathered friends, have weathered the storm safely. We are very lucky this hurricane did not strike South Florida as first expected. We should keep our Bahamian neighbors in our thoughts and wish them a speedy recovery. The clinic will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, September 3rd from 8 am to 6 pm. You can call us to schedule an appointment. Be safe and have a good rest of the week!

Happy Independence Day to all of our loyal clients! Keep your pets safe and inside tonight!

Meet Ponce! He is a 4 week old male kitten that was found dodging traffic on 17th st in Fort Lauderdale. It is assumed he was hit by a car due to his injuries which include missing his bottom lip and a compound fracture in his front right arm. Unfortunately due to the full fracture, he will need orthopedic surgery to place a pin to re-attach the bone. Fort Lauderdale Veterinary Center has offered to take responsibility for Ponce. He will have surgery in our office and recover until old enough to be placed up for adoption. If you are able to donate towards his care, we would greatly appreciate it. You are also able to call in donations directly to our clinic. Please call during normal business hours: Monday-Friday 8am-6pm and Saturdayโ€™s 8am-1pm. (954) 463-1616.

Please share for our little Ponce. Thank you for reading.

Meet Sammy (on my right) he plays Porthos, the writers dog on the musical Finding Neverland. The one to my left is Bailey, his understudy! They came to visit us today for an exam and for the Influenza vaccine. They both are amazing and attentive rescued dogs that were trained as animal actors for Broadway. Make sure to go see them within the next 2 weeks at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

We just had one of those rare encounters with another human being that I will cherish always. Dr. Richard Ssuna from All Creatures Vet Clinic in Malawi, Africa came in to introduce himself. He spoke to the staff and I for some time and told us about his clinic. We had an instant connection. He asked me if I had any expired drugs he could take back with him. I told him I would up the ante and order him, at no charge, some much needed meds and I that I would also donate him my expired drugs. He was thrilled and emotional. Why not share with others and help a colleague after you have been blessed so much? Dr. Ssuna, thanks for having the courage to come into the clinic to introduce yourself and tell us your story. My heart goes out to you and your staff at your clinic. Consider me a new friend and colleague! Cheers! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ

THANK YOU
Thanks to Dr Javier Gonzalez at Fort Lauderdale Veterinary Center for donating all the veterinary drugs ALL Creatures in support of our work. And thanks for the kind reception.

First case of the day was a 6 mo old Standard Poodle that loves to eat anything in sight. Unfortunately he didn't know rocks are not digestible and can block your intestinal tract. Surgery went smoothly and he's recovering well. No more unsupervised yard time for this guy. ๐Ÿถ ๐Ÿถ ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ

Today we said goodbye to an old friend, Lola, and yes she was a showgirl! Lola was one of our first patients when we first opened FLVC almost 5 years ago. Here in this pic she posed for us willingly on her first visit. She was a one of a kind and will be missed by all of us here at the clinic. RIP Lola

Mr. Gumbo is now recovering from rat poisoning. He ingested a few pieces of rat poison a few minutes before presentation. The owner was lucky enough to witness him doing so and brought him into the clinic immediately. We made him vomit what you see in the photo, he's on IV fluids and vitamin K1 injections and should hopefully recover uneventfully. His owners quick thinking might have just saved his buddy's life!
