Meet therapy dog Lady Belle 🐾— She is a very sweet 5 year old Cavalier King Charles, Lady Belle and her mom Beverly got certified as a PetTherapy Team with our organization in January of 2022.

They volunteer part of the year in South Florida, where they provide therapeutic interactions and comfort to the residents at The Peninsula Assisted Living & Memory Care in Hollywood on a regular basis. When they go back to their home in Massachusetts they visit The Dennis Center for Active Living at least twice a month.

In Beverly's words: "The minute Belle walks through the door, the residents greet her with genuine smiles on their faces calling her name. You know immediately that you've brightened their day. Belle loves people and is very obliging. With tail wagging non-stop, she scampers to each person and they respond with oohs and ahhs making comments such as “I love you, Belle” or “Look how she runs to ME”. It's definitely a mutual admiration society!"

🐾 Big thanks to our friends at Paradise Coconut Creek for once again choosing us as the charity recipient of their Wacky Wednesday program! 💜

For the second year in a row, this local pet boarding and day camp has turned fun into impact—raising funds to support our therapy dog programs across the community.

Support from businesses like Pet Paradise isn’t just appreciated—it’s essential. It helps us continue bringing comfort, connection, and joy to seniors, children, veterans, and so many others in need of a little extra love.

We’re incredibly grateful for their ongoing support and hope it inspires other businesses to get involved. Whether it’s through a fundraiser, an in-kind gift, or a simple donation—your support makes it possible for our therapy dog teams to uplift lives and improve mental health through the power of the human-animal bond.

We want to give a heartfelt thank you to our friends at Five Star Senior Living in Boca Raton for selecting Canine Assisted Therapy as their charity recipient last quarter! 🐶💛 One of our amazing therapy dog teams, Larry with his dog Linus, visits Five Star regularly, and we’re so touched by their support.

Their generous in-kind donation included helpful items like collapsible dog bowls, hand sanitizer, and more. These thoughtful supplies help keep our therapy dogs and volunteer handlers safe and ready for visits.

At Canine Assisted Therapy, we’re proud to celebrate Animal Rights Awareness Week by shining a light on what animal welfare looks like right here in South Florida.

Animal rights go beyond kindness—they’re about protecting the most vulnerable, giving animals a voice, and holding ourselves accountable for their well-being. In South Florida, that means:

One of our therapy dogs, Sam, just got the ultimate surprise — a birthday party thrown by one of the amazing facilities we visit, The Palms at Plantation!

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. When a facility goes out of its way to celebrate one of our dogs, it shows just how deep the bond goes. It’s not just about visits or routines — it’s about connection, joy, and the healing power of love on both ends of the leash.
