This is so hard! We are heartbroken to share the passing of beloved therapy dog, Ivy. This beautiful little lady, alongside her handler Vanessa, touched thousands of lives in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. With almost 1,000 pet therapy hours, there wasn’t a place that Ivy and Vanessa wouldn’t go to help people. When they were needed, they were there!
In her 5 years as a therapy dog, Ivy helped people at 77 schools, hospitals, nursing homes, treatment centers, and special needs facilities. Ivy also played a special role in mentoring new pet therapy teams, helping them learn the ropes with her gentle and steady presence.
One of Ivy’s most unforgettable moments was at a nursing home, where residents decided that she and fellow therapy dog visitor, Archie, should “get married.” The seniors spent weeks planning the big day, complete with decorations, music, and plenty of celebration. That wedding brought laughter, love, and cherished memories to everyone involved—an example of the joy Ivy inspired everywhere she went.
We are deeply grateful for Ivy’s years of service. Our hearts are with Vanessa and her family as they grieve their sweet little girl. Thank you, Ivy, for the love, healing, and smiles you shared with so many. You will never be forgotten. Never ever… 💔
