🌟 Standing with Ingrid in front of the iconic Hollywood sign 🇺🇸🐕, I’m reminded why neutrality is one of the greatest gifts we can teach our dogs.

Ingrid calmly navigated crowds of tourists, cameras clicking, and constant movement without a single reaction. Her ability to remain steady is the product of intentional, consistent training.

✈️ Because of her neutrality, she’s permitted to fly on commercial aircraft and accompany me in busy environments like this with confidence and ease.

Imagine the freedom your dog could have when distractions no longer control them. Train for neutrality—it opens doors and builds true partnership. Lead with calm, confident, benevolent leadership.

🤣What can we say…. Gunvald loves the ladies! Does your dog favor certain people?

🤔Find it strange that a Working Line, personal protection trained German Shepherd is so friendly with women and children? We don’t. Any idea why???

🐕Though he’s not a fan of men, Gunvald is still neutral because he trusts benevolent leadership!

❄️Snowy Dog for snowy scenery❄️

☃️This is Odin, the Samoyed. His people brought him to meet his potential sister at the Clifton Animal Shelter. We were there to facilitate and monitor!

🐕The Samoyed, bred by Siberia’s Samoyede people, herded reindeer and pulled sleds in harsh Arctic conditions. Their genetics favor endurance, intelligence, and a thick double coat for insulation. Selective breeding preserved their friendly nature and strong work ethic, making them loyal companions but requiring training, a LOT of exercise, and intensive grooming.

😀The Samoyed is a friendly, intelligent, and energetic breed known for its fluffy white coat and “Sammy smile.”

💪Pros: They are highly social, affectionate, and great with families. Their intelligence makes them trainable, and they excel in activities like pulling sleds and agility.

👎Cons: They require extensive grooming due to heavy shedding and need plenty of exercise to stay happy. Their strong-willed nature can make training challenging, and they may develop separation anxiety if left alone too long. Samoyeds also tend to bark, which can be an issue in noise-sensitive environments. Proper training and socialization are essential for a well-behaved Samoyed.

😀Our general opinion: if you want super fluffy and friendly and you’re ok with loud and occasionally stubborn, maybe the Samoyed is for you. Remember though, we approach dogs by temperament, not breed and that approach is always one of benevolent leadership!

😪She’s called the shelter her home for 265 days. This 14 month old, 25 lb mixed breed dog was adopted and returned after 10 days because she needed people with both the time and willingness to learn about her needs. Her adopters did their best but sometimes, it’s too much for certain people.

🥳She’s super energetic and fun! She loves her precision obedience as well as chasing a ball and a small game of tug! This intelligent, motivated girl is looking to make someone’s life complete if they’re willing to accept and implement our instructions. Of course, we’ll be with you every step of the way!!

🐕Dogs in the shelter system sometimes require a little time to form trust. It’s a process. It not a simple flip of the proverbial switch.

😨Daphne can be fearful if her people don’t advocate for her. That is done by lifting the burden of responsibility from the dog. Aka, she needs YOU to make 99% of her decisions or she makes the wrong ones.

🙏We’re hoping you share Daphne’s story and give her the chance she deserves. Call the shelter or DM us to book a meet and greet- yes, we will guide you. Taking action is greater than mere intention; decisive, kind action is one of the principles of benevolent leadership.

🐕Dogs offer us what other humans can’t.
What comes to mind after having read that⁉️

💪We owe dogs so much. We especially owe them leadership. Not one of the pedestrian type however; we owe them Benevolent leadership.
