This week for adoptable dog Thursday we are featuring DARIA!

This purebred Czech Shepard is an older lady (5+ yrs) that is a smart, independent and a curious dog. She is athletic and enjoys being active. She is very protective of those she loves and is a loyal companion. She can be a little wary of other dogs, so would prefer to be the only dog in the household so that she can have all the love to herself! She is an adult dog with lots of love to give and is looking for a forever home where she can relax and be taken care of for the rest of her life. If you think you could give Daria the loving home she deserves, come and meet her today!

Buddy and Mork are our featured dogs for JUNE and they are two peas in a pod! They are always up for the pool or a good head scratch! One will always follow the other, and have the cutest tippy tappys when excited to go out for play group!

Their Owner, Claire Valin, also mentioned to us that “they bolt out the door to load in the car when it’s time to go they are so excited. I know they take very good care of them and they come home and take a nap because they are worn out!”

We will honor Buddy & Mork on Sunday, June 30th along with their Westie & Little Dog friends!! We hope to see you there!

Without a microchip, 90% of those lost pets don't come home and they are picked up by local law enforcement and brought to us. We don't want any of our pet owners to deal with losing a beloved pet, which is why we're raising awareness and offering discounted microchips on Saturday, June 8th!! If something were to happen to your pet, this is the easiest way to help find their way home! Come see us on June 8th for $25 Microchips!

For the month of June, we are featuring our newest staff member MEGHAN!

Outside of work she loves spending quality time with loved ones, going on adventures all shapes and sizes, and taking care of her pets at home! At the K9 Rec you’ll usually find her with the shelter dogs, and putting things together for them to find their forever homes!

Our first adoption event went better than we had hoped! We will have a couple adoptions as a result and they will be finalized by the end of the week! 🎉

Each year, millions of animals, specifically dogs, are abandoned by their owners and end up on the streets. Many of these animals are used to a sheltered life, and this, in turn, makes it difficult for them to fend for themselves out in the world. Places like K9 Rec Center are a safe haven for these dogs and today we would like to honor all the pups that have been rescued by their humans! 🥰🐾

All day long, any rescue dogs at our facility will get a FREE enrichment session with our wonderful staff!

This sweet girl is Maite (May - tee). She is an intact female husky mix that came to use from a gracious civilian that found her roaming the streets. We would love to reunite her with her family!

This loveable boy is a beautiful pittie who is as sweet as can be!! He is working on his socialization skills while here with us and is making great strides!!!

On this special day we would love to honor the amazing companion animals who’ve braved challenges such as blindness, amputation, deafness and paralysis. Specially-Abled Pets are a testament to the courage and strength that animals have.

This is Enzo & Zelda! These two precious ladies have both lost a piece of them due to cancer; Enzo - Osteosarcoma in her leg and Zelda - Squamous Cell Carcinoma in her bottom jaw.

This in no way stops them from doing their favorite things, however. Enzo romps around as if she was tri-pawd her whole life and Zelda will stop at no ends for the hose and the ball!!

Even though a piece of them will forever be missing, they bring light to our lives and show us that they will happily adapt, with tails wagging to any situation they must endure!

In honor of National Teacher Day, We would like to introduce our newest team member, Delanie!

She is our staff of the month for MAY!!!

Outside of work, she likes to hike, be outdoors, cook, spend time with my dogs, my family, and my friends. You can normally always find me listening to music or looking for the next perfect shot with my camera. I also have a side gig of teaching kids and love being involved at school and extracurricular activities.

Lost Pup Alert: Very friendly male black Lab, not neutered, has collar but no tags, not chipped. Was found running down Colorado Blvd near Godding Hollow. He is currently at the Frederick PD (720.382.5700) and will be taken to K9 Rec around 4:00pm if no one claims him.

⭐️We are pleased to announce the dog of the month for MAY!⭐️

🐾ELLIE MAY🐾

A Colorado dog through and through, Ellie May loves to play at the Rec Center no matter what the weather is! Her favorite activity is romping around in the snow with her friends, but on hot days she will take turns basking in the sun and napping in the shade. Even though she is a herding/guard breed, she is happy to see everyone who walks in the door. She greets them with a wiggle and a smile, stopping for some butt rubs before rejoining her friends in play. Ellie May earns a free day of daycare for being Pup of the month!

Since Ellie May is a mountain dog, we are designating the last day of the month, May 31st Mountain Dog day and all mountain dogs will get a free day of daycare, walk around the pond, and a free Kong!
