Peavine Lane Pet Spa & Resort

Peavine Lane Pet Spa & Resort Nuvet Distributor www.nuvet.com/75013 I am a National Certified Master Groomer with the NDGAA. I am a 3rd Generation Pet Professional and Business Owner.
(58)

I have been trained by top professionals in the grooming and showing industry. My Pet Spa offers all types of grooming from basic clip downs for summer to the highest quality/show worthy competitive grooming in the area. We also can add creative touches to your pet (a touch of color or bling can make your pet stand out no matter what haircut you choose). I have been grooming for 14 years and have

a life time of experience in the professional handling of animals. Starting with both of my Grandparents on both sides who raised and sometimes showed dogs of various breeds. My Grandparents were very instrumental in introducing my parents to each other. They married and raised English Bulldogs. I never new a day with out a pet by my side. As a child I raised and/or handled daily; rabbits, chickens, dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, goats, a pig, snakes (YES I said snakes, brought them home regularly), game birds, cattle, and especially horses (my first real love). I had been there for all life stages from birth/hatching to their last days of the senior years. If it was an animal I tried to "make it my friend". That makes me smile to this day. My goal is to pass my love for animals and the knowledge of how to care for them to my children and any pet owner who crosses my path. Along with raising dogs, I also work hard in rescue and/or rehoming pets. I am a huge believer in spaying and neutering pets, yet also believe in the preservation of our purebred dogs through responsible and healthy breeding programs. I breed and am starting to show Standard Poodles. MY GOALS FOR THE FUTURE
I am looking forward to adding training (agility, obedience, Canine Good Citizen, puppy classes, etc) and doggie daycare. It is very rewarding to be able to work with and handle a dog that wants to "work" or play. Pets that are exercised regularly and allowed to use ALL of their muscles (especially the most important muscle, their BRAIN), are happy, healthy and have a FULL life. Can you imagine being in a room all day long laying around waiting for company to come. And then, "Yeah! They're here. Let's party, let's play!" BUT WAIT! They're too tired, too busy. They're in a hurry to let you out to go potty and then that's it. Unfortunately, that's most of our lives and our dogs lives. That's why fido is destructive, runs off, doesn't listen, jumps on everyone, soils the kennel or the house, is a general "bad dog". Most dogs can run for miles without a flinch. "Have 4 legs, will travel. Have a sensitive nose, will follow it." How do you get your pet to stay by your side? You have to make what you have for him MUCH more rewarding than what's out there and give him an outlet for ALL of the energy that's built up in ALL of his muscles, including the brain. Make everyday a new day and have fun with you pet.

ADOPTED!

This little guy is too small for his tie. He is only 3 pounds at almost 6 months old!
He is completely litter trained, vaccinated, dewormed, and ready for his new home.

Edit: I am getting flooded with message on this tiny guy already. His adoption fee is the highest of all of our other pups because of his size. He will have to go to the “right” home for his size and safety.

Let me be clear! I take the following statement very seriously! I have avoided saying anything but today I heard it again. I have been grooming dogs in this area for 25 years and have fired plenty employees, in the past, for not caring for the animals in our care as well as I expect.

There is a NASTY RUMOR that has been going around that we don’t treat animals well here. I know of 1 old disgruntled client that this comes from. This person thinks we were choking her dog but we were not! She didn’t even address it at the appointment which we could have easily rectified face to face instead of her spreading lies and misinformation!

I have windows everywhere in the shop, so we/you can see what’s going on in the grooming room. However, what you think you see may not actually be what you are actually seeing. As groomers we often hold dog’s heads by the chin or skull to keep them still while using sharp objects around their face, ears, and eyes. We NEVER choke them, forcefully hold their them down, or lie on them and make them get their toe nails clipped. NEVER! If fact, we’ve had people more angry that we refer them out to a veterinarian to do the dirty work.

And if you are hearing rumors from any ex-employees, there most likely a reason that person isn’t here anymore. I don’t tolerate any type of “pushiness” with animals at any time. I’m not proud of it but I’ve actually cussed at an ex-employee and told her to “Put the f ing dog down. And don’t touch another one anywhere ever again!” I don’t put up with it and never will!

So if you’ve heard this rumor and believe it, please do not give it any attention. I assure you it is not true. If you think you saw something feel free to message me and I can go over it with you privately.

In the meantime, we are going to keep our heads down, as usually, and keep caring for our wonderful clients’ pets.

The photos below are examples of safe holding techniques. Holding the skull and chin, NOT the throat.
